Good base for visiting Poole and the surrounding area.

We spent a week here in order to visit Poole, Wareham and the surrounding area. Excellently placed, we visited many of the local landmarks including Swanage, Corfe Castle, Durdle Dore and even ventured as far as Stonehenge; not forgetting Southampton for some retail therapy. The site is situated in pleasant woodland, offering good opportunities for walking or cycling off road, is well laid out and kept spotlessly clean. It was quiet when we visited, late September, but imagine toilet blocks will be over-subscribed when full. It suited our purposes well and we shall certainly visit again in the future.

Just the Job

Short weekend break, and our second site ever. Facilities first rate and well cleaned, pitch was excellent and well spaced out. Enjoyed a quiet night, and have booked up again for Christmas. Site situated in a great location for runners, cyclists and sea side visits.

Autumn stay with kids

We stayed for 5 nights returning this Wednesday and were really pleasantly surprised. We managed to walk to Wareham and back along forest path with off-road push chair (wish we had brought the dog), also only about half hour drive from both Lulworth cove and tank museum at Bovington both of which were great for 3 and 1 1/2 year old boys. Facilities as to be expected of club site, good standard and staff friendly and helpful. Also there was a great play park on site however weather did not permit for it to be used too much. 4 stars for peace and quiet as there was some noise from quarry across the way during the day time however at night was silent. We will definitely return next year!

Excellent

This is a terrific site. The staff were extremely helpful. We broke down on the way there and so were very late arriving and the staff assisted us brilliantly! It's a fantastic setting. We hope to return there .

An excellent all year round site

We stayed for 4 days and although the weather was not good we wrapped up well and enjoyed our walks through Wareham Forest. It was about a 3 1/2 mile reasonably level walk to Wareham - mostly through Forest trails and the Autumn scenery was quite spectacular. The path leads directly from the back of the site and was excellent for dog walking. The site was as clean and tidy as we have come to expect from Caravan Club sites and the Wardens were helpful and friendly. The site is well located with a number of interesting places nearby to visit. The hard standing pitches were level and well maintained. We will definitely consider returning to the site again.

A gem in the forest

Very well kept site with excellent facilities. Great walks nearby in Wareham forest, around Poole harbour and on the Isle of Purbeck

Autumn break

A gem of a site in a forest. The wardens were friendly and efficient and kept the site in an immaculate condition. The toilets were spotless, warm and contained everything you needed. Site was some distance from decent supermarkets but you could make do with Sainsbury's in Wareham. Stayed for 9 nights and only criticism was that campers seemed to come and go at all times! A chap on site left for work at 5.30 am in his Transit van 5 days a week and others came back to their units in there car after midnight on numerous occasions. Not nice to be woke at these unsociable times. Perhaps a notice to say no vehicle movement on site between 11 pm and 8 am would help.

A good site with a few drawbacks.

It's a lovely, clean and well run site. There are a few points that are worth remembering though. The B road from Wareham to Bere can get a touch noisy at night, so if you're pitched near the entrance, expect a bit of boy racer activity! It is worth bearing in mind that there is no public transport nearby and the road is not walker friendly, so transport is essential. One of the problems for people with mobile homes who don't like packing up.

Wonderful site

We were directed here from another caravan club site that was fully boooked.  We are so glad.  The site is immaculate, the staff are superb and I cannot praise them too highly for their helpful cheerful attitude.  When we (reluctantly) moved on, and I returned the barrier key my husband remarked that I had always emerged from reception at this site with a smile on my face - they are just that sort of people, and make you feel, happy.  The site is also great for dogs (and their owners) a large enclosed dog walking area on site, and access to the forest through a gate at the back of the site.  We patronised the local pub, just for one drink as it was a bit too far to walk along the unlit road at this time of year but it is also excellent, dog friendly, and can also be accessed via the forest path. Wareham is a lovely little market town and a great centre for exploring this part of Dorset.  Thank you guys for a great stay.
