My wife and I spent three days at the site. Lousy weather but the facilities are good. Bathrooms are clean and spacious, with a well maintained laundry. December meant the site was pretty empty, leaving us ample space to move around. TV reception is dodgy at best, but the large pitches seemed good and well drained. Drinking Water and Grey Water disposal all close at hand. Staff helpful but perhaps a little distant. Not too sure of other caravaners / motor-homers comments of noisy road. We never encountered this and evenings were peacefully pleasant - even heard a number of owls hooting, and lots of pheasant activity.
The site is well placed and in easy reach to a number of popular tourist haunts. Take advantage of this and mosey around as much as time allows. There is so much to see and do in the area. This is one of our English "Beauty Spots", bordering on a forest and ideal for those of us who are walkers / dogs walkers. Give the pub - Silent Women a visit, but avoid any food. The kitchen is poor. The pub itself is nice and clean and the ales worth a try.
We rate the site 4*. Most enjoyable
A winter's tale.
We stayed early December for 3 nights to be near Corfe Castle for their Christmas lights and celebrations. We have stayed here before and like the location. We were one of only 11 units on the site so plenty of pitches to choose from. The facilities are good, the toilet/shower blocks clean and warm. It was a shame there was no toilet block available at the time we left to return home, even the disabled toilet was closed for cleaning which is normally left accessible during cleaning times. I do not understand the complaints regarding the 'noisy road' as we have not had an issue.
Stop over
Clean and well run just a bit too near a busy road but good walks and dog walking on site shame about the road otherwise good.
Stop over
Good clean site a little bit too near to a very buisy road but there is a lovely wood land walk to a pub that do really good food it’s called the silent lady. Safe area for children and one for dogs.
lovely stay
Very relaxing and peaceful stay with various trails for walking. The wardens are very pleasant and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Would definately stay again
A good clean and tidy site
2nd visit to this site this year my wife and I like this site very much . Clean and well looked after staff always helpful.some slight road noise but it's not a problem as we've been before.toilets always clean.Near the station and arne rspb reserve.we stayed hear late October this year
Lovely site
Stayed for two nights in early October so very quiet had a whole row of pitches to ourselves
Unfortunately we chose a pitch with a fair distance to the electric hookup and our lead would not reach! But fortunately we were able to buy a lead from the site shop. Staff friendly and helpful and were happy for us to leave later on Sunday as site was so quiet which enabled us to make the most of our stay.
Nice pubs with good food by the river in Wareham.
Tyneham village was fascinating but also sad well worth a visit but check firing range times as not always open and definitely walk to Warbarrow beach which is beautiful. Kimmeridge bay is lovely but on a toll road fee £5.00!! Swanage steam railway was excellent. Overall a lovely clean and quiet site with plenty to see and do in the area. Will definitely be back
2 night stay
Site seems very cramped especially on the lower section where pitches are mostly on grass. I realise the site was busy but felt vans where a little squashed in. The facilities where very good & the staff where very helpful

Excellent stay!
Spent a week here with friends; as fairly new to caravanning we didn’t know what to expect but were really impressed - easy access, choice of pitches (it was just outside of the main summer season), friendly and knowledgeable staff, a good central location in wonderful part of the country. Will definitely be back!
Hunters Moon, 3rd Review over 3 years
This was our longest stay yet of 21 nights (we'd have stayed longer) , last year was 20 days
the site is well equipped to deal with both Caravans & Motorhomes, plenty of water/waste points, good access to almost all pitches (for Motorhomes), 2 well appointed amenity blocks and a small shop for the basics (bread/milk etc) .....
The Wardens are your first contact so it's nice if you're greeted with a smiling face, Mick/Angie the wardens on this site do just that, they actually seem happy to see you (not so sure they're quite so keen by the end of the three weeks mind)
Site is large & perfect for both families and for those travelling by themselves (no children) there are the grass pitches on the lower part, some are quite close (very close) to the children’s play area and some quite a distance from them (be advised if you're not wanting to hear children playing/enjoying themselves don't pitch close to the Play area, some members pitched next to the play area seemed not to like Children playing/making noise but then proceeded to make as much noise themselves late into the night, go figure.
The entire site is very well maintained, it's is free from litter, there is a large dog walking area with bins, the hard standing pitches are clean/spacious, the amenity blocks are left immaculate by the wardens each morning (Mind you, their choice of music, Radio2 to accompany you in the shower? No! The thought of Jeremy Vine in my ears as I'm showering, yuk! (this may be an exaggeration as I tend to shower in the early hours and it's Sara Cox)
Two minor gripes this year, one ongoing, the wI-fI is dire, I paid for Air Angel but may as well not have bothered, the upload/download I was seeing 0.10mb, not fast enough to upload my daily medical results, so had to go out most nights after midnight to get a signal on my mobile, I get why the broadband is poor due to site location/lack of lines into the site, but don't understand why Air Angel cannot provide a better Wi-Fi signal around the site.
The other is the assistant warden 'Graham' (Dawn his partner was lovely) he's obviously gaining his stripes/newish but needs to calm down and fine tune his mannerisms, marching in to our friends awning with his face up front to a 70yr old man to complain about his dog (unwarranted) or hunting me down on site for what he states was my 'speeding' (thankfully I use an app which record/logs my speed, it was 4mph) is not good, but overall he was ok, just perhaps a little 'enthusiastic' in his remit as assistant warden
The Club should provide the wardens with speed guns, not to police but to maybe record the speed and play it back to the speeder with a 'you think you maybe should slow down a little? common sense and all that.
Hunters Moon is an excellent place to pitch and go explore Dorset,
Thanks to Mick & Angie for help making our 2018 summer stay the success that it was.
See you next year (bet you can't wait)
