Super site - lovely for children

I stayed here with my grandsons in the second week of the Easter holidays. Consequently, it was very quiet. The Wardens were very welcoming, friendly & helpful. The facilities were always exceptionally clean & the boys loved the play area. There are plenty of things to do in the area - National Trust properties at Coleton Fishacre and Compton Castle are well worth a visit. We had a great day out on the steam train and ferry too. BUT, if you decide to go to Berry Head, BEWARE - the car park uses number plate recognition. It takes your photo as you enter and leave. We were stationary for less than an hour (the car park was very busy and we had to wait for a space) Paid for an hour to park but the camera said we'd been there for 65 minutes. Result a fine - £85!!!!!!!!!! Also if you're not a dog owner, it's a popular place for walking unrestrained dogs - my youngest grandson was chased (or is that terrorised?) by one! Will certainly visit Hillhead site again but not Berry Head - a shame as the views are superb.
