Great site excellent location

Excellent location, flat walk into town. Plenty to do with lovely walks along the river and lots of places to eat and drink and soak up the atmosphere. Wardens very friendly, lovely warm welcome on arrival. Very knowledgeable of the local area. Buses within in a couple of minutes walk of the site. We read the comments about the road noise and can honestly say unless you park right by the road this is not an issue. Plenty of other places to pitch up. Facilities excellent and spotless. Would definitely recommend this site

Poor for families

Site very clean. Toilets and showers spotless. Lots of road noise. Nothing to do for kids and no open spaces provided for them. A swing and a slide do not suffice. When my child was kicking a ball they were told by staff to stop as it’s not a kids playground. When he asked the staff well where do I go then, he was told’ not here’ If you don’t want kids on site make it adults only!

Great Site, can be noisy.

Have been to this site at least 6 times. Yes it can be noisy if you pitch near to the road, we always go to the back of the site. Henley is only a 20minute walk from the site, no need to use your car. Bike rides along the River Thames in the overdose of Henley. Lovely places to have a coffee or evening meal. Wardens are friendly and helpful. Toilet block always kept clean and checked over often. We had the fireworks display around 10 pm. As it was the music festival. Site was full all week but wasn't a problem. We enjoyed our stay, will come back again.Mozza.

Take your earplugs

This has got to be the noisiest camp site we have ever been on in over 30 years. The traffic on the road alongside the site is relentless. If you want to sleep before 11pm or after 5am then use good earplugs. Henley and Marlow are interesting towns, but to get to the bus stop, you need to walk along the extremely busy and fast road with an intermittent narrow pavement. Never again I’m afraid.

July stay during regatta

Lovely stay during the regatta. Great site, always clean and tidy. Genourous sized pitches. We prefer area near playground. 1 mile walk from caravan to bridge in Henley, high street 3/4 mile. Noise not a problem for us, been here several times before. Only used car to visit Tesco superstore which is several miles away, Waitrose & local Sainsbury’s in high st but preferred Tesco. Great walks along river, able to watch regatta without tickets, just sitting on the riverbank. Friendly site and will visit again. Decent pubs, restaurants, fish & chip shops and a popular dominoes all in high st. Lots to do.

Great site

Lovely clean site with good facilities close to Henley town. Sited on main road so inevitably traffic noise at peak times but to be expected. Warden/ staff all great friendly and helpful. Have stayed several times and intend returning

Wonderful

A really good site, with excellent wardens. Yes it does have road noise, but I found that it just became background noise. In a good location for Henley easy walk. Handy for cut throughs to river especially when regatta on. The wardens when we visited were friendly and helpful. On the day we arrived 6 units appeared at the same time, this did not phase them, treating everybody fairly and with a sense of humour. Sorry should have got a name but forgot. Even with my awkward booking they did it with a smile and a joke. Facilities were of a good standard and kept clean. Looking forward to next year.

Noisy site

Would not recommend this site because of the very busy Marlow road,if you are lucky enough to get a pitch right at the back,it may be quieter, the noise was relentless just as well we were only staying the 2 nights, you also had to cross this busy road twice if you wanted a bus to Marlow as you ran out of pavement, if we come again we would use the Swiss Valley campsite which is only 5 minutes from Henley and is set back away from the traffic noise and has a bus stop right outside.

Good location

We stayed here for a week in April and found plenty to do. Good walking in the Chiltern Hills, not challenging but certainly strenuous. Three National Trust properties nearby which are each worth a visit, especially if it's raining. Henley town is a delightful place with good eateries and places to poke about (try the town trail from the tourist information office). You can walk into town fairly easily but it's not a rewarding walk as it is beside a busy road and the footpath is rather narrow when passing other people. Considering the place is close to London it has a peaceful feel to it and I would recommend it and we will visit again. The site attains the expected standard with the wardens friendly and helpful and the facilities spin and span.

Nice site for Henley

Arrived to a very friendly welcome from the lady warden. This is my third visit to this site as convenient for walking into Henley (about 15 minutes) though if returning after dark a torch is useful for the last 200 yards with no street lighting. usual clean caravan club standard in the facilities. Yes, there is traffic noise being on the main Henley to Marlow road, but if you can get towards the back of the site it is quieter, this does ease of during the evening and I have never had a problem sleeping. Henley is a lovely town with good walks along the river and good pubs and restaurants. The Argyl arms has 5 ales with decent food, though ale a little pricey. The Gem is, the bird in hand, again 5 ales with just pork pie, samosa, scotch egg, etc for food, so a real drinking pub, I love it! will definitely be back.
