Not so motorhome friendly
A word of warning to motorhomes staying at Hebden Bridge. On arrival my husband went to fill up the water tank at the Motorvan service point. As with many of the club sites, the drinking water points are situated on the wrong side for most UK built motorvans. This has never been a problem on other sites as we simply turn the van around against the one way traffic. At Hebden Bridge, the warden came across and stated we had to turn back around to fill up. He allowed no one to face the wrong way. My husband explained his water hose was not long enough to reach across the other side of the van to fill, we only have a 5 metre hose. Not the warden’s problem. In accordance with the rules of Hebden Bridge, my husband turned the van back around and I helped him to fill the water tank using a watering can that we always carry. My husband has a serious heart condition, mobility problems and is registered disabled. Luckily I was still around as normally by this time I would have disappeared taking the dogs for a walk after the long drive, this is not something he should have done by himself. There is nothing either in club handbook or club website to state Motorvan owners may need an extra long water hose. Is this a new club policy?
