Favourite Site
This is my favourite site. The wardens are a friendly bunch, and always available if you need help or just want a quick chat. The site is immaculate… they have won the war on weeds! I love the flowers, trees and plants dotted around the site, including the herbs planted near the office which are available to everyone. The sound of the river is calming, and there are a few walks in the area. The village of Mytholmroyd is at the bottom of the hill, less than a five minute walk, and has a Sainsbury’s (local), and a few pubs, coffee shops and restaurants. Just Eat deliver directly to the site, as do Ocado and Sainsbury’s. There is a laundromat within walking distance where you can either wash your own clothes or let the employees look after the washing for you. We use the full wash/dry/fold service for sheets and towels. Prices are competitive, and the staff are lovely. Hebden Bridge is a bit longer to walk, perhaps half an hour, but there’s a bus stop on the doorstep which will take you there. Definitely worth a visit. You’ll find everything you need in Hebden Bridge, including a cinema… and an original Lowry painting hanging in the town hall! There are markets on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and loads of coffee shops, restaurants and pubs. There are gift and craft shops, an organic grocer and a large and well-stocked Co-Operative grocery shop. There are numerous festivals during the summer months, and loads of activities.
This is a great site to visit if you want peace and quiet, but also want a Hebden Bridge cultural fix.
