Rude warden

Our 3 night stay was spoilt by rude and unnecessarily autocratic warden, who, when he wasn't driving up and down on his noisy quad (so noisy he was wearing ear defenders), patrolled the site and stood staring accusingly at various motorhomes/caravans. Despite over 6 metres of gap between our neighbours caravan, plus a 2 foot wide hedge, they still bluntly insisted on us moving across to align exactly with a marker to comply with the minimum 2 metre health and safety gap! The only positive was that the site and grounds were well maintained, although is grass-cutting at 8 am on a Saturday really necessary? We won't come back, this is easily the most unfriendly club site we have visited, and have cancelled a future visit here already. We're choosing from the local CLs instead where we're sure they will appreciate the business after such a touch year for the tourist industry.

The spacing is 6m between facing walls of units and 3m between cars/awnings. The space is maintained by people pitching to the peg as requested.

Health & Safety rules dictate employees must wear ear defenders when using such equipment. It is not an option for staff to decide on. I feel sure the warden had his reasons for cutting grass at 8am and would have explained them if you’d asked.

If you have a grievance, you should take it in with head office rather them misusing the review facility.

Don’t agree with the comment above about not posting bad reviews, I also have just arrived at Hebden bridge and can agree that the warden is unfriendly and autocratic.  My husband was using a small bowlful of water to wash some bird poo off our car but was told you can’t use water or wash caravans and cars as the water will get on the pitch.  The Warden seems to patrol at regular intervals to make sure everything is ok, but this can be intimidating on such a small site, my husband gave him the form we had filled in for COVID registration, but was told he couldn’t take it as he did not have his gloves on 😂😂

Poor "Humphrey", not my experience at all of the wardens / site team at Hebden Bridge site. I've always found friendly, accomodating & apologetic when doing required ground work around the site. May I suggest Humphrey starts off grid camping where he can enjoy solitude & his own company.

This site / team are so good, I have returned today for another 10 day stay. And the comments on Covid Secure, what's the issue with protecting the welfare of club staff...and members!?
