Interesting Location

We like the feel of this site which is small and in a good location to explore the surrounding area. Didn't have time to go into Mytholmroyd or Hebden Bridge but, having visited the area previously, can confirm that it is full of interest and good walking. The site is nicely laid out, well maintained and backs onto a river with some surrounding but not overwhelming trees. Some road noise for the pitches adjacent to the road. As previously commented, the dog walk is not only tiddly, but poorly maintained and on a slope under trees with many tree roots. So a bit of a risk especially if using in the dark. We spent just one night here having had to rearrange our bookings due to a family illness. When we arrived, the warden couldn't initially find our booking; having sorted that out he then asked us to drive round to find a suitable pitch without bothering to tell us that there was, in fact, only one awning pitch available. As it was on grass which looked a bit soggy and as we were in a motorhome, we asked if we could go on a non-awning pitch but were told there were none available. The warden was not at all friendly or accommodating about this and annoyingly, we found that two non-awning gravel pitches remained vacant until the following morning. This is the first time after many years staying on C&MH sites that we have felt that the welcome was not up to standard. We like the area so would like to return but may seek an alternative as a consequence.
