Haycraft bliss

Stayed at haycraft for first two weeks of September. One of our favourite sites and never fails to impress. In a great location, lovely and quiet apart from the sounds of the local wildlife and nearby steam train. Woodpeckers, owls and squirrels in abundance and if you are prepared to get up at dawn you will see a family of deer wandering the site! The classic vehicle rally just down the road was a great visit, right next to the railway station. Lovely weather prompted us to take a pleasure boat trip to Poole from nearby Swanage, great views of Harry Rednapps old house at sandbanks and the varied coastline, along with an interesting commentary made for a very enjoyable day out. An open top bus ride from Swanage to Bournemouth via the chain ferry at studland another great day out. Nearby Wareham is a nice place to visit and enjoy an ice-cream by the river. So many places to visit locally where amazing coastal views take your breath away, and the same can be said for the countryside views also. Swanage itself is a Victorian seaside town with lovely level walks and plenty of places to eat. That the facilities are ageing is a small price to pay whilst enjoying this site and all it has to offer. Our only gripe being the missus, who is disabled having to wait for the relief warden to finish showering,in the disabled facilities which we found a bit thoughtless. But all in all a great holiday at a great site, where we met some lovely people. Even washing the dishes outdoors is enjoyable at Haycraft with the sun on your back,I must be going soft!
