Have reviewed this site on a few occasions as we use it as a base for walking the Purbecks which we love. The wardens are super friendly and keep everything clean and tidy.
Another lovely weekend - thank you so much.
Wonderful holiday
We have just come back from a fabulous week at this beautifully situated site. We were lucky and had lovely sunny dry weather, even sitting out in the afternoons in mid October. We visit every year for a week in either Spring or Autumn as the site is set in stunning scenery with walks in every direction. It's a quiet site, with only the delightful sound of steam engines, chugging up and down the line nearby. The Wardens are so helpful and friendly and the site is immaculate. Flowers in the shower block are a very nice touch. They gave us a cheery wave and "see you next year" as we left - you just couldn't ask for a more enjoyable experience. Very pleased to hear that they will be on site next year.

Loved it
We spent 9 nights here in early Oct. Excellent weather for time of year. Access to site no problem, egress another matter (Early arrivals). The site is on 2 levels, the upper level appears to have wider hard standings. The lower level's pitches are more narrow and results in parking the car in front of the unit if an awning is erected. This results in a slightly untidy effect. The wardens were polite and friendly and the showers brilliant. All facilities were as to be expected. The RSPB site at Arne is well worth a visit and the Swanage railway is a short walk. We will definitely be returning.
Haycraft / Dorset
Arrive on site,7 days of blue skies and bright sun.
2 days of rain on grass pitch but what can you expect Sept/Oct.Warden Trevor did ask if we wanted to move because of expected rain and wind.Toilets
and facilities brilliant, will definitely be going back.
Shame we still have those useless squeeges in the showers.
lovely area
Lovely area for walking and cycling but only disappointment was only pitch available was a soggy grass pitch , and was told that I could not move if a hard standing pitch came up as vans moved over the six days we booked, as the hard standing pitches are prioritised at time of booking, with a dog this was not ideal so I will not return to this site and cancelled the last two nights stay also lack of showers and toilets for the amount of people staying there was a problem.

Fantastic Location
Just returned after 3 nights on this wonderful site, All spotlessly clean and very friendly / helpfull wardens.
We walked the public footpath just outside the site to Corfe castle and returned on the Steam Train to 'Harmons Cross' which is only a 5 miniute walk back to site.
If you like walking i recommend a visit to 'Worth Matravers' and walk the coast path to 'St Aldhelms Head' it has stunning views but be warned it is VERY steep in parts but well worth it, There is a 200 year old chapel and a volunteer life guard station at the Head.
For £3.80 you can take the car across on the ferry from Studland to 'Sandbanks' and across to Poole harbour.
We will definately be returning as there is so much to see and do around this wonderful location.
Fantastic weekend break
Tranquil site and a wonderful position close to lovely walks and a few miles to the local pubs.
Spotlessly clean and very friendly/helpful wardens, could have stayed weeks never mind a weekend.
We will most certainly go back.

Swanage was no wash out!
After eight nights on this wonderfull site it was hard to return home! The short walk to the heritage Swanage railway (frequent steam trains) made it an ideal location for leaving the motorhome on site and making visits to Swanage and Corfe Castle. The train also provided a variety of locations to start one of the many local walks. Having booked at short notice we were adviced a grass pitch was all that could be made available and we needed to be aware that recent heavy rain had left pitches boggy in parts. The wardens made every effort to find us the best position to pitch to minimise the effect of the wet pitches. An excellent and careing approach that we appreciated. Next year we will book up early and make a return visit as there is so much to see and do.

Keep off the grass!
Great little site in a perfect location. Quiet, clean, well managed. Mostly all hard standing and there's a reason for that........ grass pitches are VERY muddy after some rain. You will struggle with a normal saloon car and the mud will carry into the van. If you can get on the hard pitches or you know it hasn't/not going to rain, then book it!
