Mid Wales is the place where you can put your body and soul back together. This was our second visit to Gwern y Bwlch, only a one night stop yet again, but close to family connections. We love the site, a carefully tended patch on the side of a wooded hill. As mentioned by others, it is steep, but the pitches are generally flat, well kept and surrounded by hedges and trees. Most importantly this site does not dominate the hill and the wildlife, it is a careful partnership between Pete and Janet and Mother Nature. There are plenty of service points and the lack of toilet and shower facilities is of no consequence for us. Radio reception is non existent, we don't often bother with TV, so again, of no consequence for us and we cannot comment, but we were able to listen to the Radio via the BBC Sounds App on the phone, and use the internet.It is so wonderful to have a site such as Gwern y Bwlch, a complete contrast to the larger, louder. pricier holiday camp style sites. The walks are delightful, the view across the valley is lovely. We picked blackberries and had a peaceful quiet sunny afternoon and evening.
