We had stayed at the site previously and fed ; admired and photographed the amazing birds. After a gruelling drive across Ireland and then through Wales up from Pembroke Ferry port, we looked forward to a comforting spot to rest up. All was shuttered up, reasonable at 18.15, but rather than rudely take a pitch, I first sought an "ok" from the warden. I was loudly reprimanded in public. "Have you not read the notice on the door" . I had not; the reception marked parking leaves only the shuttered front visible. Then " you were supposed to be here between 12.00 and 14.00 and we are not working at all tomorrow". I bit my tongue and thankfully saw no more of him before we left. Are these people unpaid volounteers or paid employees with no customer awareness?
