Many years since I was last here and very pleased that it is still well maintained and the toilet block always looks clean. The Wardens, Eddie and Judy, welcoming and very friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them, also knowledgeable about the local area. One downside, as mentioned in another review, the number of barking and yapping dogs plus children riding bikes at a fair speed going the wrong way down the road and the footpath leading to the toilet block.
If you want a reasonably priced, home made, meal then try The Avenue pub, 200mtrs from site entrance - well worth a try! K&M from cambs

Reading past reviews, I noticed how the time of year seemed to affect the review. I arrived at the start of the school holidays and pitched at the far end of the site. By 6pm, more units arrived and then gave me the impression of a cramped site. I'm not sure the space from the back of mine to the unit behind me was enough by the rules. From where I was pitched there were 7 rows of units back to back. I can agree with many of the poor comments about the site. In fact, at times, I had thoughts of how a travellers' encampment would feel. No chickens but quite a few free range children. Not for me.
Great Yarmouth
It was our first visit to this site but wont be the last.
The facilities are standard CC expectation's no complaints at all. it is handy with bus stop across the road and road train running along the Prom just 300 yards away.
My only niggle is that the amount of barking dogs there are on sites these days. I've had a dog for many years so I'm not against them and the second niggle is that when people use the toilet they cant clean it after them. not CC Wardens job to clean after you.
race course
I have been using this site for a while now and I have always been very happy with the pitches available. The on site facilities are always very clean and maintained to perfection. Ideal bus location just outside the site so you have good access to yarmouth to do your shopping. I just wish that other caravanners would pick up after their pets as sadly this time some did not.
Not great!
Location wise it is not a walk to the main part of Yarmouth but a good drive. We hated the way the site was set out. We were fairly crammed in. There was a party at the racecourse saturday night that went on well into the early hours of the sunday therefore we spent hours trying to get some sleep. Facilities were second to none though. Always very clean and well looked after. Might be some people's cup of tea - just not ours..........
Good weekend away
Lovely quiet site. Booked short notice. Very pleased. Great walk across the dunes to the beach. Only a short walk from the site. Staff all very helpful & friendly. Chip van arrived on Friday which was good. Have booked to go again.
Peace and quiet - perfect
If you want peace & quiet then this site is for you. We enjoyed some quality time together - our dog enjoyed the walks and we enjoyed the chance to catch-up on some reading.
Not recommended for families as facilities are limited, however the beach a stones throw and Yarmouth entertainment is not far away should you require it.
Shower block and toilet facilities really clean and easily accessible.
Racecourse Great Yarmouth
After a long journey on a Friday from North Devon it was fantastic to be able to just arrive at the Late Night Arrivals area plug in the electric cable and go to bed. The washroom area was the cleanest we have ever been to. Judy was extremely welcoming and so helpful on the telephone. We will definitely return and would recommend this site to anyone without hesitation. Thank you

Dog walk needed
We stayed for 6 nights and found this site to be adequate, toilet block clean, site very quite, but needed a bit of tiding. Our main complaint was the amount of people who instead of exercising their dogs OFFSITE as requested decided it was OK to walk round the grass areas of the site with no consideration for others and allowing their dogs to mess anywhere, ok they pick it up with their plastic bags, but who wants to sit having breakfast with a dog making a sometimes sloppy stinking mess outside. Some people did take their dogs straight offsite ,fair play to them, but many did not, so I would say either install a dog walk, or enforce the clearly stated rule of no onsite exercising much more strictly.
