Immaculate but noisy
A pleasant site with lots of other accommodation. There are no particular views and pitches are such that you are facing into other pitches.
We were directed to a pitch by the warden who assisted in making sure that we were pitched correctly. It’s a shame that we couldn’t pitch with the caravan facing the opposite direction as there was better views. When are they going to do away with the silly rule of all caravans facing the same direction.
The town is around 10 minutes walk which is fairly level and down the small roadway that leads to the site. Just a few minutes up there is Pagoda restaurant which is very popular and has a good menu. The no7 Bistro is also very good and is situated next to the co-op.
The town has several shops, fish and chip shops and a few restaurants, although some were closed on Mondays and some on Tuesdays. There is a great shop down the High Street where you can refill containers with all kinds of goodies and they have a small cafeteria that is excellent.
The site facilities are immaculate and well maintained including good disabled facilities. The downside was the jet engine noise that was omitted from the toilet block, likely to be the heating system. This went on all day and all night and we noted that caravan move pitch because of it.
We didn’t find any recycling facilities.
It’s around a 20 minute ride to Aviemore and the Speyside centre is en route that has a large gift shop and cafe
