Our first time…..
A relatively small and compact site that offers something for everyone.
The real bonus is the close proximity to Grafham Water. This is a reservoir belonging to Anglian Water and they are to be commended for the work done to turn the area into a wonderful community asset.
There are two visitor centres, each with a cafe/restaurant and car parks adjacent. There is a small 'aqua park', boats for hire, picnic areas and a sailing club. There is also an abundance of wildlife. A pathway allows the energetic to circumnavigate the reservoir, a little over 8 miles.
A visit to Ely cathedral, the 'ship of the fens' and a few hours spent in St Ives, especially around the river, will be well spent.
The site staff, as always, offer a friendly welcome and look after their charge with efficiency and dedication.
There’s a bonus on Friday and Sunday evenings when a wood fired pizza van is on site. They are really good, too!
