Good for families

Poor.

We had high hopes for our first stay on this site but were very disappointed so left early. First of all the access to this site is not for the faint hearted and we were not warned about the very narrow bridge which gave inches either side of our van! obviously this is not the site;s fault but really some form of warning should be made clear as it is nerve racking, even for the most experianced tower. The most concerning issue here was the warden, (not the assistant warden who was very helpful and pleasant.) I found her very rude and not in the least bit helpful. We had an issue with our key (which was rectified) therefore needed some advice as this area and site was new to us. This warden was very unhelpful, suggesting I leave my car outside the site not gauranteeing its security. We left early the next day. Needless to say it was a very unpleasant stay, we will never return there that's for sure. On the positive side there was a very nice Tesco Express just down the road!

we always read the directions supplied by the club, on-line and in the handbook, it is there that you will find a reference to the narrow bridge.  We were at Gowerton twice last year and just to put another viewpoint, we found all the wardens okay.

Not sure which route OP took but there is nothing daunting on the approach. We were there last year. No idea what key OP is talking about or why car might be left outside

Yes the bridge is narrow but there is no problem going over it look at it on google earth and you will see. There are a few white marks on each side of the bridge due to driver errors.

If you approach via Pont-Y-Cob Road as directed there is ample visibility and road width either side of the bridge to hold back if necessary and ample width for a single caravan or MH over the bridge.

If you approach from the other direction their is a bridge with max vehicle width of 2.3m ........... now that would be daunting!

I have stayed at this site on many occasions love the site the proximity to Swansea and the beautiful North and South Gower coast. Wardens have always been very helpful and friendlysmile

Found this site to be one of the best in the country. All wardens where exceptionally ,site was always spotless, location was great for whatever you want to do, fantastic dog walk, the access rd was a little bit narrow but don’t do fifty miles an hour and no problem. Thanks to all the wardens for a fantastic reception will be back again.
