Perfect Location for Gower Coast

Just returned from a 2 week holiday using this site. Easily accessible from M4 and you can go under the low bridge with your caravan as you approach Gowerton, rather than going on the diversion route to avoid it. Don't head through Loughor as a narrow weak bridge near entrance to site.  Having driven around the Gower coast, this is the easiest site to reach and avoids towing your caravan along some of the narrower Gower coastal roads (A4118) to reach some CL sites or other affiliated sites.   Site itself was lovely, spacious pitches, green and surrounded with trees, clean and peaceful despite there being families there, including ourselves.  Site wardens were very friendly and helpful.  Fish and Chips nights are arranged for Saturdays and Tuesdays if you order by 4.30pm - perfect if you just arrive late afternoon as we did and don't want to cook!  Site shop has bare essentials, but Tesco Express 5 mins away.  The toilet/shower block was in good condition and regularly cleaned.  When the larger block is being cleaned, the small block is available with 1 toilet and 3 showers. It has a play area, but it is very small and ideal for children aged 3 - 8yrs old. Behind the site through the dog walking secure gates is a large playing field with a park and skateboard park for older children.  You would need to accompany them, unless you are happy for them to go there alone as they will be out of site. The location is on the North Gower, but the South Gower coast is within 15-20 min drive through Cross Hands.  Highly recommend a visit along the North Gower Coastal villages and beaches, however we did spend most of our time on the South Gower.  Most beaches on South Gower (Oxwich, Caswell, Port Eynon, Horton, Three Cliffs) are reachable within 20-25 minutes  - it will involve driving along some narrow roads with passing places so maybe not ideal if you have a big campervan.  The centre of Swansea or the Mumbles is within 15 minutes by car - lots to do for families (footgolf, sandy bay, leisure centre, shopping, outdoor lido, Singleton Park, theatre, cinema etc..).  The Gower itself offers lots for sunny days - long sandy beaches, beautiful coastal walks, pony trekking etc..  We did also venture out to the Vale of Neath  / Brecon Beacon to discover lots of waterfalls; some of which you can walk under (Henrhyd Falls) and mountain railways. Gowerton itself does have a small High Street with a Sainsburys and Post Office, but nearest supermarket is the Tesco Express at the Petrol Station 5 mins from the site.  It does get busy in the forecourt at times, but stocks most things and has a cashpoint. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and had our most varied holiday here with a mixture of beach days and days out walking or finding waterfalls / coal mines / caves.  Ideal for families with plenty to do to more than cover a 2 week holiday.  We will be back again very soon.
