Motorhomers - Take Care!

This is a brilliant site for motorhomers. However, and this is quite a big however, do consult a map for your route as the railway line to the north of the site means that many roads have extremely low bridges. The club directions advise that you take the alternative route without specifying what that is, and there aren't many road signs to help. Having said that, Gowerton is a great base for touring. Again, motorhomes may find some of the roads a bit tricky, especially if you are heading to the south-west corner (Rhossili Bay etc). Incidentally, Rhossili is National Trust so Members park for free and it's well worth a visit. The NCN runs quite close to the site and it's a loively ride down the old railway route to hit the coast mid-way between Swansea and The Mumbles. We were there in mi-July and the beaces were almost empty despite the heat-wave.

Having visited the site only last year I had no recollection of any height problem or diversion. Then I checked the details and realised that as the directions give the low bridge height as 3.3m I would not have worried about diverting with the caravan.
