Good for families

A good site spoiled by uncaring, selfish members.

The access road is a little bit tight and the site itself is flat and level and the first impressions are that it is a beautiful site. Unfortunately, I found that the way in which the site is laid out actually encouraged thoughtless individuals to invade my space and that of many other caravanners.  All too frequently, whilst we were either inside our caravan or sitting outside it, these individuals would simply stroll across our pitch, across the (our) hardstanding and walk off as if we were not even there. It wasn’t just one thoughtless family or individual doing this, it was almost everyone in our area. There are designated gaps between the trees which actually funnel people through from one side of the site to the other with no apparent thought being given as to where these people are meant to go once they have passed through the gaps. Consequently, they take the easiest option and walk across someone’s pitch.   The wardens are very friendly and they keep the site looking beautiful. Unfortunately, they don’t appear to worry too much about enforcing the rules. I pointed out to one warden that a Motorhome was incorrectly parked on the pitch. He agreed with me and said that the owner of the motorhome had been told about it. However, nothing more was done about it. Whether or not you agree with the rule about correct pitching next to the peg, it IS a rule and it either has to be adhered to and enforced or alternatively, it should no longer be a rule. It can’t be ignored. Several Units arrived, almost all of which contained dogs. Some of the dogs were kept under control but several others were simply allowed to bark, and bark and bark for a very long time with no apparent attempts being made by the owners or the wardens to bring them under control. The site has a very nice dog walk area which is well kept and just off the site there is a huge playing field which appears to be very popular with dog owners. There are a few speed bumps on the site roads and this is a good thing. However, they seem to invite lots of unsupervised children to treat them like launch pads for their scooters or skateboards.  Talking of speed restrictions, many motorists ignored the 5mph site speed limit and we were frequently alerted by the antics of one person in particular who seemed to think that the site roads formed part of his personal race track. He would speed across the bumps and turn sharply off the site road, across part of our hardstanding and then continue across the grass until he reached his pitch. Unfortunately, he did not give the impression that he would welcome the opportunity to have a sensible discussion re his actions. This site isn’t bad at all. Unfortunately, it is a good site spoiled by uncaring, selfish members. If you value your privacy at all, do not go to this site.
