Very friendly welcome ,second time we have visited this site this year first time was not long enough!.lovely clean site with amazing sand dunes beaches, great for body boarding, surfing. The dogs loved it as well absolutely doggie heaven great for lots of interesting walks. Thank you... we will be back
The site was clean well kept. I think the bad reviews regarding the toilet block are misplaced (book a hotel next time). My only issue was having to turn the motorhome around to use the grey water dump point (having a continental rig). Enjoyed being so close to the dunes which appeared to be a dog walking heaven. Staff friendly and helpful; the fish and chip van serves excellent food.
We just had to revisit this wonderful site. The pitches are well set out to give a relaxed beach side 'chill out' feeling. Plenty of excellent walks direct from the site along the coast in either direction. The NT café near the Red River is not to missed. We really must try to get to one of their special evening meals.
Our thanks to the Wardens and Mr 'Sparks' for trying to help when our battery gave up without warning just as we were due to leave. We were so sorry to have to stay on the pitch a little longer that we expected. (Site fully booked) Sadly the company that the RAC sub-contracted our call out to failed to identify the battery problems correctly. When we pitched at the Trevedra Farm site a further call out had to be made and this time the 'proper' RAC attended and replaced the battery which was checked as faulty. We do not get the opportunity to review affiliated sites so I would like to take this opportunity to recommend this excellent family run site to anyone who has not yet made the discovery of the gem.
Spent 7 nights here in mid September. This is a beautiful site in a stunning location. We normally choose to pitch on all weather pitches, but this was really lovely and the grass was on top of sand so quickly draining. No straight rows of hard standings. The different areas are nicely, landscaped with hedges and tropical looking trees dotted around –just beautiful. The wardens here are most pleasant and very helpful and keep the site in tip top condition and spotlessly clean. Our only complaint is the loo block – old and past it. We recognised it as one of the old designs, which have on some sites have already had a couple of extensions and upgrades. This looked as if there had been attempts to “tart” it up, with new side on the loo compartments and newish looking bright turquoise flooring in the showers –ugh! While we were there the wardens painted one of the walls in the loo blocks to smarten up a wall where some fixture had been removed. The ceilings are very low and very marked in places and the sounds from the pipes were just terrible. On some days it sounded as if there was a ship coming into port on other days it sounded a bit like an air raid siren. Come on CC spend some money here and completely renovate the loo block or drop the prices by at least £5 a night. This was the worst toilet block we’ve ever been to at a CC site – way below standards. Such a shame as this is a fab site.
The site was lovely. As a 'newbie' motorhomer and a solo lady the staff were very helpful. Not having yet seen other sites, I found the facilities very good, clean and as the site was full no problems getting a shower! Thankyou for a lovely break.
Position of site is really good being very near the sand dunes then a short walk to a very large beach.
We were there in September and site was full but quiet and peaceful. The wind does blow a lot more in North Cornwall than it does in the south, be prepared.
This site is quite flat so when its full it can seem a little packed but pick a place on the outside and its OK.
When the site is full the toilet facilities are inadequate so be prepared to queue for both showers and toilets, men and ladies. I agree with previous writer that it also makes them difficult to keep as clean as you might want. Caravan Club needs to invest here.
We thought the facilities were looking rather tired and cleanliness was becoming difficult to maintain. Otherwise, the location is terrific and the staff were very friendly and hard-working.

Very nice site, with a number of separate pitching areas which gave it a more informal, unregimented feel. No dog walk as such but the direct access to a public footpath to the dunes and beach meant that this was not a problem. Main facilities clean & well kept though the instruction to only use an outside sink for bbq grill washing seems a little odd, particularly as it was unlit so not practical for late washing up. The access to the dunes, beach & coastal path are definite pluses. The walking is fairly easy, we walked into Hayle which wasn't really worth the trip except for the lovely long beach. There is though a large Asda and a Lidl there so useful for stocking up. Access to the dog friendly part of the beach not entirely straightforward as the main steps down were closed but well worth the effort to find alternative access. Dogs not allowed on the beaches in the opposite direction from Hayle but the extensive dunes means that this is not a problem. Will definitely return.
