I think this has to be the most unusual site we’ve stayed at. Sited on the harbour overlooking the water was both calming and peaceful. The wardens were so helpful and really welcoming. We visited the Harbour Inn and had the most delicious meal and very reasonably priced with excellent, friendly service. You hardly needed to leave the site as there are so many lovely walks. Visited Newton Stewart for shopping which is a lovely town with a Sainsbury’s and Aldi. A small criticism are the facilities, could do with an overhaul. Having said that, they were spotless, so no real concerns. If we visit Scotland again, Garlieston will be on our list to revisit.
