Great Site

Lucky enough to get a pitch directly overlooking the harbour and bay - magnificent in every way. Toilet blocks are dated but they are very clean and the showers have fantastic pressure. Garlieston itself has the Harbour Pub which served a reasonable pint of Real ale and the food was fine without being spectacular. The Hive Cafe is fantastic with great coffee and lovely cheese scones. There are some very easy walks direct from the site. The small town of Wigtown has an annnual book festival and therefore has some fantastic and quirky book shops and although not really golfers but when in Scotland you have to play so we took the clubs and found St Medans Golf Club stunning and immaculate. Wonderful coastal views from every part of the course, hardly anybody playing on a Thursday meaning we can hack around to our hearst content. Great value at £25 a round for over 4 hours entetainment ! All in all a great 4 nights with good weather an added bonus.
