Pretty Village Location
Visited for the first time at the end of July. The site is located in a pretty part of this overlooked corner of Scotland. The site entrance is a delightful with flower boxes and well kept planting around the entrance. In general the site has the feeling of being very well cared for, with much attention to detail by the wardens. We had a friendly efficient reception on arrival from the lady warden and opted for a pitch on the area overlooking the bay. Pitches alongside the bay were taken so we pitched on the grass area behind. I think however that had one of the bay side pitches been available it may have been too short for our 7.5m motorhome. The site was full and we did feel more crowded in than on any other club sites we had visited. Perhaps the club would consider fewer pitches in this area to give visitors more feeling of space and privacy?
Garlieston is a lovely village with a nice friendly pub, with lots of walking opportunities from site. However this might not be the ideal place for those with young children with no play facilities on site and close proximity to the tidal bay.
We will definitely visit again, and will try to get a pitch in the walled garden part of the site next time.
