Peaceful stay
Visited 7 May intending to have 3 nights - in the end stayed an extra one. It's a couple of hours from home so ideal for short break. We've been regularly. We love chilling, watching the tide coming in and out. Introduced son and daughter in law and their motorhome to the site this time and they loved it. Friendly wardens and well kept site. Recommend fish and chips from van on Friday evenings - queue entertained by buskers which was a bonus. The Harbour Inn serves good and reasonable food and has fairly sheltered beer garden. Also recommend goat and ewe's milk cheese from the cheese farm at Sorbie. Great for coastal walks in both directions - to Rigg Bay and Cruggleton Castle especially and good birdwatching. We very seldom travel far but Isle of Whithorn worth a visit and we use the bus into Wigtown for a change of scene. Will be back!
