Recently visited Garlieston for a few days away. We couldn't have picked a better site. A warm welcome greeted us from the wardens, who were friendly, helpful, and run a beautiful site. The whole site, and the whole village, was spotlessly clean and tidy. I've never been somewhere so quiet and peaceful, and it was the ideal location for a quiet break. The locals were all very friendly, as were their dogs! The village has a pub, The Harbour Inn. From the first time we went in we were warmly welcomed, and ended up having a couple of good nights with the locals. Food was nice, drinks reasonable, and the people priceless. This is the perfect site to get away from it all and relax. The whole place felt safe, and I didn't lock my car or the caravan while there. Garlieston isn't really a site for children, as there is very little to keep them entertained. Mobile signal while there was almost non-existent on 3, but had enough for calls and texts on O2, and some data connection on Vodafone. The pub has free wifi which was pretty quick.
