Peaceful and attractive - recommended.
We stayed at this site in late August. It comes to you well recommended. The spot is fairly remote, peaceful and attractive. The staff are polite and helpful, and will go that extra mile to make you comfortable with your pitch and the facilities. The staff also sell small amounts of groceries etc in the office, however there is a post office walking distance away that also doubles as a general dealers if you need anything. The on-site facilities are clean and well maintained, so no need to worry on that front. There is a lovely walk you can take along the coast, after passing through a few gates – the staff can show you how to go if you want. The site is "dog friendly". We are not dog people, but the ones on site made no real noise, so we were not bothered by barking or anything like that.
Out and about. The local pub, “The Harbour” is also well recommended. A short 5 minute walk away it decorated with a traditional interior and serves good food, reasonably priced, with a range of local ales. Wigtown is close enough for driving to for a pit stop at the Co-op and there is a Saturday market, as well as many bookshops.
All in all we had a great break, and would stay again.
