Before we arrived I expected Harbour views with jolly jack tars and fishing boats etc.What we got was views across the estuary with gulls ,oyster catchers,mallards,swallows,house martins and a heron;and at night bats galore-BRILLIANT. The Harbour Inn,couple of hundred yards away served good food,good beer and good company-do for me!. We had a run down to the Isle of Whithorn-lovely little restaurant and then up to Port William-Ice cream. We also went down to Kirkcudbright-free parking,free museum and a smashing cafe. We also managed to go for a wander to the harbour as well but as we were only there 3 nights we did not manage to try the other walks round the site. Got to mention the showers-proper showers as hot as you like and you don,t have to run round in them to get wet!. Really worth a visit to this site.
