Garlieston Caravan Site

We have been here a few times, but this is the first time we have been on the main site with its views of the bay. Anne and Martin are two dedicated wardens and are very friendly and helpful. They have created a beautiful floral display at the entrance and the whole site and facilities give evidence of how much they care about the site. There are many things to do here. Golf nearby, fishing from the harbour wall, and great walks from the site.We spent time browsing the many second hand bookshops of Wigtown, walking in Glen Trool and Wood of Cree. Newton Stewart has a Sainsburys and an Aldis, in fact we picked up a good set of cheap of binoculars in Aldis so that we don't have to share the ones we keep in the caravan. The local hotels in Garlieston and Bladnoch are worth a visit. Further afield however, Tasty Bites in Port William provides bacon butties to die for!
