Best site to relax in
Now in my 80th year, I look forward to my twice yearly visit to Garlieston. The site is on what can only be described as a unique place. My first trip of the year is down to Garlieston, what we call our shakedown cruise, and my visit on the 23rd. to 28th. April this year went as expected, very relaxing, Anne and Martin the perfect Hosts, and the floral display as good as ever. The area is full of places to go and see, the new Gallery in Kirkcudbright is excellent, and the cafe is worth a visit alone. Any keen gardeners should take a trip to Threave, outside Castle Douglas, which is the gardener training site of the N.T.S. For dog walkers there is no better site, with a coastal walk starting at the site. Anne and Martin run a tight ship, and I have never had any cause to complain, the toilets are immaculate, and the site is always neat and tidy. The Harbour hotel Pub has some of the best food I've ever had, at reasonable prices, within easy 4 minute walk. As the advert for Brooklands race track said; the right crowd, and no crowding! A great credit to the Club.
