The team at Garlieston were very welcoming and gave us enough local information when we checked in. Our pitch was a large grass area and in the walled area away from the main sea front. This meant it was quieter and sunny all day long. The coastal walks from the site are as long as you want to make them, and take you to some wonderful spots. The site facilities were well managed and the system of 'arm bands' worked well, making you feel safe when using the facilities. We really felt very relaxed staying on this site, it was larger than what we would normally opt for but it has a feeling of a smaller and less formal site. We are looking forward to returning in the autumn and trying the out the local fish and chips and the pub too.
