Good for families

A credit to the wardens.

Just got back from 5 days at this lovely site on the harbour front. The wardens Ann and Martin work tirelessly to keep the site spick and span, and all done with a smile. The flower beds around the site are beautiful and well tended. The facilities are absolutely spotless - if a little old fashioned, but plenty of hot water. The site is in two separate areas on each side of the road, but don't let the road put you off ,it is limited to 20mph and only local traffic passing and very quiet at night I would advise that you take provisions as there is only one very small shop - the post office really - Sainsbury's and `Aldi in Newton Stewart about 14 miles away. The village is very quiet  - a lot of holiday homes. There is one pub which I believe is open all day and serves average pub grub - NOT gourmet! The landlord and staff are very friendly. The area is very quiet, not really much to do - no big tourist attractions - but beautiful coastal walks from the site and further afield. Further north is the Galloway forest which has amazing walks and cycle paths and visitor centres. Well worth a visit. A very relaxing site with very pleasant wardens, we enjoyed our stay very much. .
