Clean, well kept site in a lovely position. Friendly helpful wardens. I was in the sheltered walled garden and loved it. Would not be very easy to site a large unit there though. Close to lovely dog friendly pub/inn.

1st September to 11th September.

Having stayed at caravan site in Garlieston from 1st Sept to 11th Sept we find ourselves writing the first ever review. We have toured for 40 years and have been with Caravan club for 24 years. The entrance to the site is a mass of colour with flowers, there should be awards for such floral displays. On entering reception we were greeted efficiently, a smile and lots of local information The site itself is a jem, so very well kept and the toilet blocks were immaculate at all times. But the diamonds were the wardens, so kind and helpful to everyone very hard working with a great sense of humour which is essential and sometimes lacking on some sites this was our first visit to Garlieston but hope to return. We hope the club realise what a asset wardens Martin and Ann are.

One week stay in early August

In a unique position by the sea bay. Friendly and caring wardens - pristine site. The village pub was well used by all the campsite visitors. Our second visit and we will hope to return.

A wonderful Bank Holiday break

We stayed 4 nights in our camper van over the August Bank Holiday weekend.  The site was busy and we was lucky to get an amazing pitch overlooking the bay.  We had such a relaxing time either just enjoying the view or exploring Rigg Bay, the gardens and the bay in the village.  The wardens were super lovely and everything spotless.

A Little wet

We have just returned from a 7 nights stay in our caravan. We have been to this site 5 times over the years, the last time being 6 years ago. The wardens Ann and Martin keep the site so nice and clean and are a welcome site when you arrive, however I feel the Caravan Club should spend some money on all hard standings. We were on a grass pitch and had our own private swimming pool outside the door. No body can help the weather, but at least if they were all hardstanding pitches they would drain a lot quicker.

Tranquillity

What a really tranquil location and the site  has beautiful views over the bay and adjacent small harbour. The wardens keep the site beautifully and create  a really relaxed atmosphere. The site is within a lovely village with a lovely pub that serves nice meals in a friendly atmosphere. We'll be back!

Absolutely Outstanding

This site is on the edge of the harbour in a charming small village.. It is a small site divided in two. The larger part is beside the sea And the other smaller part across a narrow road in woodland with full facilities. The village is at the end of the  from Wigtown and therefor traffic is very light. There is only one shop in the village with modest supplies and the nearest super market (small but well stocked) is in Wigtown about 6 miles away. There is excellent dog walking off site but adjacent. As usual welcoming reception. A great experience.
