Beautiful

When we arrived here we were not sure if we would last our stay. There is NOTHING HERE, no shops, no cafes, no tea rooms, BUT...the site is wonderful, spotless, views you never get tired of looking at, very helpful, knowledgable staff regarding the area in all manner of things, nothing was too much trouble even when I struggled to get on the internet. The one thing it does have is a wonderful pub, lovely friendly staff and locals, prices perfect and food of good restaurant quality with a lovely quiet beer garden around the back with birds to watch nesting out of the wind that sometimes comes over the harbour. By the end of our stay we did not want to leave. The beach is dog friendly and literally on your doorstep for lots of burning of energy or just shell hunting. We did have 5 days of full sun throughout which of course always helps and we took the local bus out on trips but if you want to adventure out there are plenty of places to explore around we were just happy to sit, rest and enjoy the scenery. If you are passing this way or looking for a total recharge of batteries this is the place to be. Just make sure you have sufficient supplies (as we did ) unless you want to go out shopping or eat In The pub ( which serves all day from breakfast)you will come unstuck with lack of shops. Loved this site and look forward to returning.i have given 1 for families as there does not seem a lot locally. There is a small playground a 15 minute walk away and of course a lovely beach and walks if that is enough to keep your little people happy.

Great trip with the family!

Just stayed here for 7 nights. Welcomed by the 2 lovely wardens from over the Irish Sea. Spotless showers and toilet block. Lovely display of garden flowers at front entrance, will be back soon! - Billy and Elaine.

Another great holiday

Yet again another great holiday. A fabulous site with lots to do in the area. As always the wardens were very helpful and informative. Could not recommend more highly. I gave ' Good for Families' four stars only because the water in the bay can be deep at high tide. A hidden gem.

The Browns

This is a beautiful site, Ann and Martin are very helpful nothing is a problem for them, the site is well kept and clean, the entrance to the site is always beautiful along with the views, you have the Harbour Inn two minutes walk from the site which is dog friendly and the food is good, and two miles in Sorbie you have the Pheasant Inn which is an Italian restaurant the owners are a husband and wife team the husband is the chef the food is excellent and delicious freshly cooked and is truly a gem of a place well worth a visit.

Ticks all boxes

Ideal location for every mood, whether you want to relax, hike, tour or cycle, it accommodates. Easy walk into village for bowls, community, local history, or a pub lunch. Friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable wardens take obvious pride in their job and their site, which is laid out immaculately offering spacious pitching where you can choose the sheltered area or open waterfront. All pitches offer spectacular views, toilets are bright, clean and warm, and the whole place is decked with colourful plants and shrubs, which just add to the beauty. We spent Friday to Tuesday on the waterfront and loved every minute, and look forward to revisiting soon. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant.

We love this place

We stayed in the walled garden...so quiet and peaceful...toilet block very comfortable, warm and clean. The wardens are very friendly and helpful. Our dog loves the walks and the roads are quiet for cycling. We would love to be go more often to this site but unfortunately have a ferry trip to get there from N. Ireland. We had a meal in the Harbour Inn as recommended by the wardens and it was very tasty, good value and dog friendly. Will definitely return.

a weekend to remember

A beautiful site on the waterfront in Garlieston village. 2 minute walk to the Harbour Inn for a bite to eat or a refreshment or two. Great site for cycling/walking or chilling out watching the tide ebb and flow. The grounds are very well kept with some nice flowers in bloom in Scotland in April !!! Toilet block was very clean with excellent shower cubicles. Nice friendly wardens who take the time to speak to the caravan/motorhome owners. Well worth a visit and on the list for a return visit.

One of our favourites

One of our favourite Club sites. Peaceful set right on the waters edge. Unfortunately we were not able to get one of the pitches on the harbor wall this time, but the wardens made a few suggestions to ensure we had a nice pitch with some view of the bay. Facilities are spotless, tho probably in need of an upgrade. No reflection on the wardens just time for the Club to invest a bit of money. The wardens ( Mr and Mrs Kinney ) are excellent and look after this site on their own. always welcoming and happy to have a chat even in their busy schedule. The location is ideal for a peaceful break. The Harbour Inn is 2 minutes walk and serves great food.
