After a long drive on some less than ideal roads we arrived at Garlieston on our first ever visit to a warm welcome and brilliant display of flowers. We stayed for 2 weeks and got a front row pitch overlooking the bay. The weather was brilliant so the setting was great just watching the goings on in the bay with the changing tides. Very peaceful and relaxing.
The only real gripe we had was when a piper started playing the pipes and he was asked to stop by the relief wardens. The VAST majority of people were enjoying it and were out listening, speaking to their neighbours and taking photos. It’s a shame that one complaint spoilt it for the majority, maybe common sense and taking time to look at the situation would have been better and allowed him to play for a short while longer only.

Once again another lovely trip to Garlieston. This is our 2nd stay in a month. fortunately the weather has been brilliant which has shown the flower display as you enter the site in it,s full glory. What a great job wardens Ann and Martin do at the site. The last time we put a review in we had heard they could be leaving this year and we honestly hope this is not the case. They truly are an asset to the club and would be a great loss for Garlieston. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They really are a lovely couple, and we are so proud to know them.

An under rated area of Scotland
Galloway is a hidden treasure and the club site at Garlieston is well located to explore it. We will certainly return soon.

Could be our last visit, as we believe Ann and Martin are being moved
What a joy as you enter the site the flowers are amazing as always. The welcome as warm as this years summer, oh what a pity the Club feels it is right to move such amazing people. We have been many times because of Ann and Martin but will not return if they leave, as this site will only go one way, downhill. We find Camping and Caravan Club wardens are always friendly but this is not always the case with Caravan and Motorhome Club. We may reconsider our membership as this is one of the few sites we feel that the wardens are always there to help and talking to others many feel the same. Please reconsider moving them as it will upset many members.Thank you again Martin and Ann for yet another lovely holiday, hope to see you here again next year if we don't make it back again in 2018

Our first visit
This was our first visit to the Garlieston site and Dumfries and Galloway area. I was blown away with both the site and the area.
The site is immaculate and its setting has to be one of the best in the UK being right on the waterfront. The wardens are an absolute credit to the organisation, the welcome is second to none, nothing is too much trouble and they ensure the pitch you select will ensure your stay will be memorable. The site is kept in pristine condition and the flower display at the entrance is stunning, this is clearly down to the professionalism and enthusiasm of Ann and Martin.
We explored the area and were so impressed with the villages on the peninsula (all are crosses between Ballamorey and Port Issac) and the Galloway forest area which has super walks which are as good as many in the Lake District. We only planned to stay for 3 days but we extended it to 5, it would have been longer but had to get back to Devon.
We will definitely be going back next year, thank you for a memorable visit.

once again just returned home from Garlieston club site.the weather was fantastic . Before leaving we found out that Ann and Martin could be leaving this site. There are a lot of people come to the site and one of the reasons they keep coming back is down to the wardens. They are the friendliest, most helpful and the lovliest couple you could hope to find.Nothing is a problem. Why do they have to move. The show of flower arrangements when you enter are a sight to behold and it is all down to Anne and Martin. Why do things have to change when they are going so well. If it,s not broken do,nt fix it. They are a credit to the club. This is one of the reasons we have just finished our third visit this year. Visiting other sites this is not always the case.I know speaking to some of the locals they have nothing but good to say about them. Mywife and I will be very disappointed if they leave and know for a fact we are not alone.Garlieston site is a lovely site but I think it will lose something if they leave.

Exceptional Club site
A good club site is a combination of a number of factors but the quality of the Wardens has to be among the key components. Good Wardens make a good site. Garlieston is blessed in having outstanding wardens who go the extra mile to ensure that their visitors have the best possible stay. Anne and Martin are among the very best of club wardens. They offer a warm welcome, ensure that the pitch you select is just right for your needs, provide advice and guidance as to what the area has to offer, and with their constant care and attention they make sure that 'their' site is not only clean and tidy but through the flower gardens they have created the site is exceptionally attractive. Garlieston club site is in a wonderful location but our stay there was 'made' to a large degree by the welcome of Anne and Martin. Many thanks to you both for a most enjoyable visit. We hope to see you again.

Fabulous site and location
Just returned from our second stay at this wonderful site. The site itself is kept absolutely immaculately by the wardens. The views from the harbour pitches are glorious and what we like most of all is how quiet, relaxed and friendly the site is. The Harbour inn pub is lovely and the locals very friendly. There’s a pub garden and the pub itself is very dog friendly. There’s a cracking walk to Rigg Bay and also a little forest 5 minutes drive on the way out of Garlieston. We didn’t venture further afield this time but there’s plenty of walking and cycling to be had in the area.
Ann and Martin are amazing wardens and a credit to The Caravan Club. They are helpful, friendly, hard working and keep the site in tip top shape. We were sad to hear this may be their last year as the Caravan Club like to move wardens around. We really hope the Caravan Club don’t change this winning formula which is Ann and Martin at this fabulous site.
Beautiful site
We have just returned from a week at Garlieston, this was a trial run because my husband had to have his lower leg amputated two months ago and as he did everything it was all now left to me it was very new and daunting, but when l explained this to the wardens Mr & Mrs Kinney they couldn’t have been more helpful and encouraging, nothing was to much trouble to them, they checked every day that things were ok, we would just like to say that without their help and support l don’t think we would have survived the week, they were brilliant over and above the duties l imagine required of a warden, as result my membership of 16 years will continue for many years to come, plus future visits to Garlieston.

Great wee site
Just returned today from a sunny warm weekend in this great wee site in a lovely wee village. The wardens keep this site beautiful and clean and are extremely helpful. The surrounding area is lovely and there are lovely walks and the area is good for cycling. The Harbour Hotel which is just a few minutes walk away is welcoming and does good food. Definately be back. 😁
