Fabulous clean site, with lovely views and managed by excellent wardens

Just returned from 4 nights at this lovely site. The wardens were absolutley wonderful, so friendly and helpful and maintained the site to exceptionally high standards. The views are beautiful overlooking the harbour with handy walks from site, brilliants for dog walking. We were told the pub a short walk from the site was good (although we didn't try this). We did find a superb sanwhich shop nearby in Port William, called Tasty Bites, which sold breakfasts in a box - delicious. The surrounding area was great to explore with stunning scenery, we found a grassy wild camping site at the Isle of Whithorn, right at the far end of the harbour, which was great to park the motorhome on, have a picnic and take in the views with a short walk.

Lovely, clean site right on the coast

Ann and team couldn't have made us more welcome, we hadn't booked, but they managed to get us in to one of two pitches remaining, we were in the walled garden, fabulous and very sheltered. The place was really clean, with the team spraying and cleaning facilities regularly. Super reassuring during the pandemic. Ann told us about pub, 2 minutes walk and local walks we could do. Really friendly, just what we needed after long drive from Yorkshire. Excellent site we will be back.

Excellent site

Stayed here the 31/5 - 2/6 2021 pitch no 7 overlooking the harbour. Great site and very professional and friendly staff. Good food at the Harbour Inn and dog friendly. Nice walk to Rigg Bay and back through the gardens of Galloway Hall gardens. I am not a gardens person but must admit was impressed with all the various trees and plants.

What a peaceful and beautiful site

We stayed at this site for the first time from the 29th May to 1st of June and it will not be our last. The welcome from Ann was really refreshing and welcoming. We had a lovely time, beautiful walks and cycle rides. We ate at the Harbour Inn and that was very nice. If you want a site which has the scenery, walks and tranquility this is the site.

Lovely peaceful location

Our first visit to this lovely unspoilt and peaceful location in Garlieston. On arrival at the harbour side site we were greeted by the very friendly Ann who gave a very thorough site and safety briefing and directed us to our lovely pitch. From our pitch we could enjoy the rising and falling of the tides and glorious sunsets in our peaceful location. From the site we enjoyed lovely coastal walks and wanders into the open gardens of Galloway House along with spotting the range of coastal wildlife. The site is in a great location ideal for visiting the the beautiful surrounding countryside, quiet fishing villages and ports. We look forward to a return visit in the future.

I really missed this site during lockdown

We arrived on a wet and windy day to a very warm welcome from the wardens Ann and Martin. We got there early to bag a pitch in the walled garden. We like it there because it's sheltered, quiet and private due to the single row of vans. Later in the week I sat in a suntrap where the only noise came from the birds, bliss. Wifi was good but only one phone got a reception, I was quite happy about this. People in the villagae were welcoming and chatty and the lady in the garage/shop very helpful. There are lovely walks from the village and further afield. The roads are quite for cycling various routes. Yes I missed the shop and the book exchange but Covid rules have to be followed. The toilet block system worked and I felt safe and cared for. Well done Ann, Martin and the Caravan Club

Top site

Stayed four nights at the end of May & wished we had booked longer to complete more walks . Great team to welcome us & loved the atmosphere, including beautifully tended flower borders. One for our our next trip to Scotland. Steve, Hilly & Luca, motor homes from W.Sussex

Peaceful and relaxing

Booked two nights and added one more, two days before arrival but unfortunately on a different category pitch. On arrival very helpful wardens found us an ideal pitch for all three nights so we didn’t have to move. Managed two long delightful walks from site, in opposite directions, but note the seven mile walk involves two mile of road walking, along a fairly quiet B road with no path. Beautiful, peaceful location, in a small village. Ideal peaceful, tranquil, Bank Holiday break.
