Having read previous reviews, which are quite mixed, we wondered what we would find on our arrival. However by and large we were pleasantly surprised by this site. The female warden who welcomed us was very pleasant and helpful, though some of the team of six were not what you would call unfriendly BUT not the friendly types you normally come across on CC sites ? We took pitch 31 which was in a more peaceful area of the camp which kept the sun longer than other areas, though a bit more of a trek to the shower block. Like others I simply can't understand why there is only 3 toilet cubicles in each block ..... strange !! Showers themselves are the best we have found in many a year, plenty of room. The site is almost adjacent to the beach which appears very child friendly, there are walks which are beautiful but not for the ill or infirm. If you're going for boarding or surf try Freshwater West which is 8 ish miles away and has free parking. Manorbier is supposed to be OK but the sea was a pancake when we tried there. Pembroke and especially Tenby are worth a visit. Overall we had a peaceful and rested week which was what we needed. This area appears VERY dog friendly and some yapping does get on your nerves after a while if the owners don't sort them out. After all not everyone wants to hear their yapping dogs, especially the smaller ones. Unfriendliness wasn't something we really encountered and almost everyone replied to a "Good Morning". Rowdiness, there was a bit in other parts of the site but we didn't encounter anything outrageous. Some drivers do need to know what speed 5mph is !!! Oddly on the journey home, my wife made the comment "I liked it but its missing something. Don't know what but it does miss something". Strangely someone else reviewed the same comment. Will we go back ? Probably not because we rarely do, too many other places to visit. Not because this was awful.
