Good for families

Not bad at all

We stayed here for 5 nights over the Easter half term. Meeting the warden on arrival was brief, we were told to pick any pitch and let them know which one we chose next time we were passing. The road markings are indeed faded, however, they're not illegible and we found them easy enough to follow. The speed bumps are a little severe and plentiful, I've no intention of speeding on a campsite and they made me cringe a bit pulling the van over them. Didn't see anyone driving too fast but did note one driver going against the one way. We were on a gravel hard standing which was plenty big enough but sloped away quite a lot. The rear legs on the van were fully extended to level it out with the hitch nearly on the floor so blocks would be handy, no drama though. The awning went up and the ground took hard standing pegs OK, only bent one or two. We did get a little annoyed by the noise on a few days. The grass was being mowed a LOT and the wardens use a small sit on tractor to collect the rubbish etc. I understand they're all jobs that need doing but on a few days it felt as though engines were running all day. Also the play area was hideously noisy on a few evenings with kids screaming until gone 9pm which really detracted from the tranquility...I know I know, Easter half term, kids etc...it's to be expected, it's just an observation. The shower blocks and toilets are fantastic, obviously recently refurbished to a very high standard. I noted a lack of toilets in the gents but it wasn't an issue. The location is very nice, the beach is just a short walk away and great for kids. LOTS of dogs about though and not being a dog lover, found them a bit of a pest, jumping up on people when soaking wet and covered in sand. There's no shops in walking distance though, so be sure to stock up.
