Not a great start

We stayed here last week and from the moment we arrived at check in it was stressful unlike other sites we have been to we were informed that there might be two hardstanding pitches left but they were not sure as others had arrived before us and that there might only be grass pitches left. we were given a couple of numbers to look out for and sent off to drive around the site and see what was there, we were told that as it had been raining recently the grass pitches were wet and that we should ideally not go on one of those as if we got stuck they would not be able to help us get off them. We ended up on a grass pitch as there were no hardstanding pitches at all left and when i finally parked and went back to tell them in the office the pitch number i was told that there seemed to be a message written on the board about that pitch although they did not know what it meant but that i might have to move again later if it had been booked by someone else. The ladies toilets in the new block are very nice and new however when my wife went to go in there she was greeted by two women who informed her that they had been shocked to find a few men walking into them to use the WCs and even after they had pointed out they were not the mens they continued to use them before leaving and since then the women had only used them when they went together. My wife was too scared to use the showers or toilets on her own unless i waited oiutside the block to make sure no men entered when she was in there. The women said this had happened to other women on the site in this period so we ended up riding shotgun each time she need to use the toilet. I would not say the first impression was great on this site and when i ran out of Calor gas halfway through cooking a meal on the friday evening at 6.00pm and asked if they sold refills i was shown a list written on the wall with the various sizes and prices, i rushed back to the van to check the size and went back and asked for the 13kg propane listed at £28 and was then told we dont do that one! i asked if there was any way we could get a smaller one or something to at least tide us over but was told flatly they couldnt do anything like that and i would have to have a look around Pembroke tomorrow to see if anywhere kept them. The half cooked meal was thrown away and we ended up snacking and then left the following morning two days early. I expected better from a club site.
