Have you been in touch with the club about this? If you feel it is genuinely a problem, you need to tell the club and urge them to act. Writing a site review is unlikely to achieve much in the way of resolution. 

Complain to the wardens and, if that doesn't get a result, complain to head office. 

However, please do not lump all dog owners together. It is the irresponsible minority who ruin it for everyone.

This is exactly the point I have tried to put across on CT more than once. It has got nothing to  do with disliking dog owners or disliking dogs, it is purely to do with the filth as mentioned in the op's review and the amount of dogs on CMC sites. How can it be acceptable to think it is right to be comfortable with that amount of contamination on the pitch and around the site. Dog owners think that the pitches and sites are there only for dog owners but that is not the case, members without dogs have to tolerate this but there is a limit, and I think the Club has exceeded this limit by doing absolutely nothing about it and allowing unlimited number of dogs on site  (including packs) and could not care whatsoever the feelings of other members. At the end of the day we still use Club site because we like the quality of  cleanness and you know what to expect and the standards are higher than the (majority) of the rest. I agree with the reviewer, something should be done about the amount of dogs on site, but I doubt that will happen and all we will see is even more packs of dogs and even more dangerous dogs on site. .

TW I doubt that site staff are qualified to recognise those 4(?) Dog breeds defined as dangerous dogs under the legislation. However I doubt that BS was referring to dogs defined by the act

At the last cc site we were on, a superb site with excellent wardens, there was the same problems with some people and their dogs. A couple pitched very near to us would put their dog on a long lead and walk it round the 5 ‘vans on our pitching area. It was allowed to sniff & wee at the front of & all around the ‘vans and awnings. We were amazed, especially as the owners were such lovely people. We are not the sort to make a fuss, so didn’t say anything. However had we had young children with us who might sit out on the grass then we would have said something. There were several others on site who took out their dogs early morning and stood while their dogs did their business on other people’s pitches. We are dog lovers who were dog owners and know it is just certain owners who behave in such a way, but it isn’t pleasant. On leaving the site and commenting on the superbly maintained site to the wardens, I mentioned the dog problem. She said it’s an on going problem that is difficult to stop. Exactly the same happened on the cc site we were on in April. Lovely lady taking her dog for a walk around the pitches near to her.

Which is why the club has introduced the 2m lead restriction and issued guidance to owners. However, until wardens enforce this, and I do appreciate they can’t be all seeing, then little is likely to change. 

I know it's all been said before but this is not a problem restricted to club sites - in fact IMO it is much less prevalent on club then commercial sites and certainly less so than in general areas at home. A site we used to use yearly in Cornwall for family get togethers charged £3 a night for each dog (this was about 8 years ago) and the problem was worse there than on any club site I've visited. So charging (as a way to limit numbers) is not the answer.

It's wrong and I'd be the last to defend it, but comments about what happens on club sites are, in my experience - admittedly never in high season - greatly exaggerated,

Sorry but your post is very much part of the problem ,why it is as some say"prevalent "a word with the site staff will normally get a proactive response at the time , it is no use "mentioning it " after the event when leaving or on a public forum when it could have been dealt with at the time

Just to add to my post where we are staying now there are notices "advising "to tell the site if they have noticed unsocial dog owners ,as they say it can be dealt with as its no use complaing afterwards 

this is not a review. The site hasn't got much going for it re. facilities, but the beach is lovely and is open all year for dogs, which is a main attraction for dog owners. I am a dog owner and if I see anyone not picking up I do tell them . I don't like barking dogs, they can be trained in the same way that owners can be trained, but only if you catch them at the time.  I was also at Freshwater in September and I have to say that although there were lots of dogs they were all okay. Only one owner I saw hanging around the grass area with her dog on a long lead, but she saw me coming out of my 'van and moved off.  I hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay.
