A Great Site In A Lovely Area

We have recently returned from a twelve night stay (9 to 20 July) on our first visit to the excellent Freshwater East site and would like to pass on our observations. On arrival we received a warm welcome from the lady warden and were shown how to find our serviced pitch which was one of the ten available from the 134 on this site. The pitch was massive as are all pitches at the top end with plenty of space for caravan, awning and parking, really nice. This is a quiet site split into several areas screened by trees and served by two toilet/shower blocks. It appears that the site has been expanded and the second block added some time later. Both are modern and kept pristine by the wardens (as is the whole site) but I am afraid I must make a negative comment here. Along with many people, there are some things which I don't wish to download into my caravan toilet and although the men's facilities have ample showers there are only three toilets in each block which resulted in a backlog most mornings. I haven't had to que for Mr Thomas Crappers invention since my schooldays and indeed, during one muscle clenching morning I even considered if I could get away with using the dog walk! No criticism of the wardens intended here, they maintain the facilities admirably but only three toilets in an amenity block? On the plus side a new chemical emptying point was being built while we were staying so improvements are ongoing and perhaps this could be adapted into a four-seater outdoor communal toilet. . . To continue with my comments on the general stay this is a great site from which to explore a beautiful part of Wales while enjoying peace and tranquillity along with stunning scenery, therefore I give it full marks. Wildlife and nature are encouraged by the wardens and abundant on this site. There are foxes, owls, bats and apparently a black rabbit has been seen hopping around so take a few carrots with you. The nearby beach is just perfect and also dog friendly so if you want to leave the world of stress behind I recommend a stay at this site. Footnote: If you take laxatives I would recommend that you leave them behind too.
