Upset by the warden
We are very regular at ferry meadows staying
there eight to ten times a year and we had to pick our caravan up from being serviced at Pioneer caravans. When we arrive early we always park in the layby near to the garden centre and have a cup of tea before we press on ,
Now the Nightmare begins the East of England had a show there and everybody was leaving the site early because it was so muddy they had to be pulled off so lots of people parked in the layby so when we arrived at 10.45am (not the campsite )there was no where to park so we pressed on in hope to at least park in the holding bay at Ferry Meadows when we arrived the gates were shut and a note on the
gate saying the gate would be open at 11.30am, So while we waited to see what our best solution was a very rude and stroppy warden came and spoke to us and said you can't
park there or you will have a ticket we did ask could we park in the holding bay he replied if
you go in there everybody will want to go in there , now there were no painted lines on the road saying we could not stop there nor where we blocking any entrances , now we were
still deciding what to and because the sat nav signal /phone signal is very poor We were
waiting what our best solution was .He then said to us if you don't go i will cancel your booking GobSmacked now he was being threatening and my 83 year old father could not
believe his ears he then said you can go and park at the A1 service station ,Yes we left and
found a place three miles up the road now at this stage did we want to go back We want a holiday/rest no arguments well long story short we returned back at 11.30 am on the
dot to find six vans /motorhomes were already in there and the very happy warden said
sorry about that earlier It was rude and threatening that's how it felt to us, We are normal everyday people who respects others in a polite manner we are not something you have trod
in well this did spoil our holiday and my poor dad had this on his mind and fell of his
mobility scooter on uneven grass to avoid a speed bump cutting his arms so in the end we had to leave early to get him stitched up
This has upset us very much and there was no
need for this manner.
