Good for families

Spoiling children's fun.

This is our second trip to this site which we checked out last year for our grandchildren. As it had a great play area and a small basket/ football area we thought this would be great for them. We stayed over the school holidays so site was full, on the second day the football area was closed due to siteing Caravans too close to this area, as fence surrounding the compound is not high enough, to stop the balls going over.My grandson went to site office after a couple of days to ask when will it be opened, and was told it may not be opened until the next week. A couple of days later it was opened, only for one of the wardens to stay to the boys playing football, if the ball goes over twice then it would be closed for the rest of the holidays. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful, other members of staff could do with some training in been helpful. We really would have enjoyed this site ,but was spoilt by some of the wardens. We have been to over 80 club sites in our 15 years of caravaning with this club but feel badly let down by this experience for our grandchildren and ourselves.. On the plus side ,site is lovely and is great for children, Toilet block was always kept clean and tidy. Lovely bike rides from site to Peterborough. Will i go back NO. Mozza.😡

I don't see what else the warden could do. Was your outfit close to the fence?

no we were not.maybe 50 yards away. 2 caravans weve in my opinion far too close to this area, which was the planners fault, the fence was approx 15 feet high around the basket/ football area, it should have been higher. this is very child play area. allowence need to be given, and it was peak school holiday time. . the most importantissue is the people who speed on this site and get away with it. Mozza.

which was the planners fault,

Possibly but not the wardens fault as I don't see what else he could have done if the site was full. Maybe he could have closed some pitches. I don't know

How high is high enough? for a fence ,as there will always be some who cannot or will not control how they use a football, and i would think it would have been from complaints of other caravaners who "forced" the wardens hand, as it may be that as the site was full it would not have been possible at the time to move pitches further from the play area

You do seem to have a thing about this warden who’s not in a position of being able to answer back. Have you reported your concerns to the club?

What is he to do if members check into the site? Irrespective of race or creed, he can do nothing unless they break the rules and, even then, his hands are tied.
