Rude staff

This site is in an excellent location, but unfortunately we will not be visiting again. We witnessed 2 different staff members aggressively shouting at customers, and we found the receptionist to be unhelpful and condescending when attempting to locate 2 pitches together for a family group. The site is advertised as being suitable for dogs, however you are not permitted to exercise your dog anywhere on site, and your dog will be expected to hold their wee until they have passed the gates.

Dogs are always meant to be exercised off site or in a designated area. That's nothing peculiar to this site.

Pitches are chosen on a first come first served basis so at a busy time it’s not surprising that there may not have been two adjacent vacant pitches. However, if you feel the warden’s acted inappropriately, you really should contact the club directly about your concerns.

Due to all the hassle from various 'customers' who didn't like doing as they were asked/ told, like you, the site nearly shut down, as by coincidence I was in the reception when you asked about having two places together and were politely told it would be only if you could find two places as none are reserved. There have been 'people' call themselves humans) defacating in the showers,(ladies and gents) because they couldn't wait for a cubicle, non flushable wipes put down the toilets so they got blocked, being rude to staff on the barrier because they were asked to go back onto the main road etc in the lay-by and park up as were there too early. I go to this site at least 4 times a year and some of the things I see by the odd 'customers' who think they own the site and don't give a 5h1t about the site people or anyone else, are disgusting and selfish, and the pandemic has made them worse. I'm glad you are not going again. You might not have been aware that the Chairman of the C&MHC was there same wk end, so he heard and saw first hand what was going on. This is a great site, and well cared for, but spoiled like a lot of places, just by a Pathetic few, who think they can do what the want and talk to the staff how they like. Just remember they have a job to do, and try to do their best, and do so. Would you go mouthing off at your boss when he tells you what you have to do, when and why, I bet you don't, 99% treat the staff with respect and they try to do as much as they can for you, they don't need the 1% like you anywhere, cancel your membership

There was nobody else around the office when I was in reception so I’m sorry to say that it was not me that you saw, and the response I received from the staff member was not at all polite, particularly considering that I only asked if we would be permitted to look in a different area of the site.

I am glad that you have always had a wonderful experience at Ferry Meadows but unfortunately this was not the case for us, and I am just being honest with my rating.

Since writing my review I have now seen other members make similar comments about the staff (and have heard from a colleague who stayed a week after us), so it’s certainly not an isolated situation.

At no point did we intend to break the rules or take ride tones with the staff. Having worked in a customer-facing role for years I would never dream of treating customers in the way that we witnessed during our stay. If I had ever done so then I would be placed on disciplinary measures immediately!
