One of the best sites - made better by great wardens

A regular site for us with peace & quiet, a great country park for dog walks and cycling, and topped by some of the best wardens - Joy & Kingsley are a great example to some of the other wardens we have met and are always very friendly and smiling, full of fun.

Another quality Ferry Meadows visit

Easy access, good positioned sunny level pitch number 78 (79 and 80 flooded), transport and cycle path / links to Peterborough, no site 'gotchas'. Nice pub at the top of Ham Lane (Granary), a tranquil family site with good practical thinking wardens - we will be rebooking soon.

A Firm Favourite

Ferry Meadows is one of the sites my family and I have visited on numerous occasions.  The location gives an ideal base to visit places like Stamford, Leicester, Cambridge, and obviously Peterborough.  The site is huge and set over two parts.  Either side of the site is perfect.  The staff are always welcoming, and the site is always kept in tip top condition, even in the busy periods.  This is a popular location for families and my kids always enjoy their stay at Ferry Meadows.

Our very first caravan trip.

This was the first time we had been away in our caravan so I am making this review without being able to compare with other sites. The site is very to find and is only a few miles from the A1. We received a very warm and friendly welcome despite arriving late and we were offered assistance to set up when I mentioned that it was my first outing. The site was surprisingly busy given that it was mid-December but I found our plot easily enough and embarked on the task of setting up in the dark (won't be doing that again). Morning revealed a very attractive spot with the added benefit of the occasional steam train chugging by on the Nene Valley Railway. The rain kept up pretty incessantly during our stay so we didn't do much exploring, preferring to stay in a cosy pub.  Facilities at the site were immaculate and exceeded my expectations so we will definitely be back when the weather improves.

First class stay

We chose this site for our first outing with our new caravan. We knew the area well as we once lived only half a mile from the site. we were warmly welcomed and easily found a convenient pitch. Facilities were a very pleasant surprise. Lavish and spotlessly clean. Staff were helpful and friendly, as were other caravaners. Good shopping and eating within easy access of the site, and very good walking and cycling very close.  We will undoubtedly return.

FIRST TIMER

Friends suggested this site to us & I have to say that everything we were told was correct, the site has a great location with the Nene Valley Railway, Nene Country Park all on your doorstep and if you are a golfer two courses are close by (one within walking distance). On arrival the wardens made us very welcome and helpful when we had a problem on our motorhome, the facilities are very clean and the whole site is well maintained. The country park is a great place to visit and has a good selection of short or long walks and cycling paths that take you around the lakes & river Nene. Although the weather was not great during the visit, some very strong winds / rain it did not spoil our visit and we will be returning in the spring / summer.

Windy Weekend

12/11/15. It was a wet and windy weekend on a site that is right on our doorstep, took us 25 mins to get there. Last time we was there must have been 20 years ago. We think the the site is well placed for everything you could need for short or long break. Will be going back after Xmas

We Just Keep Coming Back

We have been coming to this site for about 30  years and we never tire of the location and its proximity to Ferry Meadows Country Park. We found the Wardens very helpful and friendly and the facilities kept extremely well. We enjoy the wildlife and walks and the relative quiet of the site. Obviously we visit many other sites during the year but return to this one regularly. Here's to the next time.

A visit to Peterborough

This is an excellent site, very quiet during our visit in November, only one side open. We combined a visit to Peterborough with several walks in Nene park and the surrounding area. Parking in Peterborough was not a problem as we had checked for a motorhome friendly car park before setting off. All our walks included a pub meal and we would highly recommend The Windmill.
