Another GREAT Site !!!

Just had the last weekend here our 1st visit but have already booked another. Absolutly brilliant weekend everything you need really walks, cycling, the country park, steam railway and loads moore in the area. weve already booked our summer holidays els where but this would be a great site for more than just a weekend we would highly recommend a visit .My only minor downside was at night you could here i think was the A47 inthe distance it did seem busy late in the night but apart from that a GREAT site.!!!!

Great Site

We stayed for a couple of nights (18th to 20th March), mainly to try out our new motorhome. Weather was not great, so did not get out & about, and explore as much as we wanted to, but the walks around the lakes were beautiful. With good weather there would be plenty to keep you occupied for a number of days. We plan to come back again when it is warmer (and the sun is out), plus is only about an hour away from home, which is a bonus for us.

Great Site - Don't Ruin It

We visit Ferry Meadows several times a year and have been doing so for many years. The site is wonderful with its open spaces and close proximity to Nene Park. We always pitch on the 'grass side' of the site but, when we arrived for our most recent visit (18th March), we were informed that the grass side was closed whilst the children's play area was being built. Why were we not told this when we booked ? Do we need another play area ? the existing one seemed OK to me. I am also concerned that the increasing number of hard standings being installed is taking away the open feel of the site - there are now areas that are very cramped indeed. I would ask the Club to stop and think what they are doing to this site. It hasn't yet got to the point where I would stop visiting - but it isn't far away ! The price of £56 for two nights (albeit Friday and Saturday) is also on the high side

Lovely site

What a fantastic week we have just spent here. The Warden's are really friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble for them. Great location for walking, cycling and birdwatching and Peterborough is within easy reach. It's a large site but doesn't feel like it. Facilities are spotless and site is very clean and tidy. Could have stayed a few more days and will definitely be back.

Lovelysite great location

Just returned from a lovely week at this site. Were due to stay five days but was having such a great time we stayed an extra two nights. I have to agree with the previous reviewer, when we tried to extend our stay online it said site full but when we telephoned to confirm we was able to book and there were several spaces on site available. We visited the Nene Valley Railway which was next to the site. The club advised 50% discount but we were advised that this was now about 30% and the information was incorrect. There was road noise and noise from planes but this did not spoil our stay

wow what a place .

I loved the location due to great dog walking but if your a motorhomer you'll feel slightly isolated as we didn't see buses around but plenty of cycle lanes . the nearest proper shop was a good 20 minutes walk if you need supplies . I loved it for the wildlife as it was everywhere but you could here the drone of the A1 traffic but I was able to switch off from this . the site was clean and tidy and the showers block was good , clean and hot water . There is a cafe that opens at 8.00 and closes at 16.00 . Its about 2 minutes walk from the site . i will be using this site again and really can't wait .

Site 'Full' but lots of Empty Pitches

Nice, well kept site in great position next to Ferry Meadows park. Friendly and helpful wardens. I only stayed one night - just a run for the motorhome battery. I tried to book immediately before I left home but website said site was full. I almost went somewhere else instead but decided to ring the site and, success, the warden was able to squeeze me in. Great! There was a rally in one area of the site but to my surprise there were still 8-10 pitches useable pitches unused overnight. If this is happening at other sites too, surely a considerable loss of income for the Club and, in the end, higher prices for members.

Lovely Site

Not too far for myself to travel yet it could easily be a million miles from home, just the ticket to unwind. We arrived early November 2015 and though the weather left a lot to be desired we had a good time. Not busy at this time of year but nice to get away and take in some of what the area has to offer and trust me for someone that don't do much walking in my line of work i really did enjoy the walks and the wildlife. I met family there and had two pitches next to each other and was peaceful. If i had any complaint and it is only a small one and that is a motor mover is a must for a long outfit. I have a pick up and at the time a Sterling Elite Trekker & trust me i can get this in some spots but here it's near impossible on some of the pitches to drive on without a struggle....a little more room off the through road would help but as my new van has a mover i don't foresee any more problems. If your children enjoy the great outdoors then for all Midlands based tourers should give this a look. Excellent WC etc as you would expect and site maintained well even though the weather didn't help. Will visit again....

Love it!!

Just had my first trip this year to check my motorhome is in good working order after the winter storage, Ferry Meadows is close by but really great to visit, staff are all so friendly, the grounds are kept very clean and tidy, I don't use the facilities (being self sufficient) but all look very well maintained.  The park near by is a doggie heaven, my little pooch just loves it there!  I've already booked in for my last trip later in the year :)
