We booked for one night on our way home from a week away. When we arrived we were directed to the outside lane of the arrivals area, and this meant we ended up entering the site after outfits that came after us. This was due in part to the silly design and control of the booking system. The Wardens seemed to be a bit disorganised with the system and faffed about with the process. After looking at pitches on the smaller site and being held up (by people who'd arrived after us but got through before us) pitching up we went over to the bigger site. We settled for a pitch and pitched as instructed and noticed that many people were sited anyhow on the pitches and not as instructed. The site Wardens didn't appear to be bothered by this so I don't know why they even mention it if they don't enforce it. Unfortunately our pitch was used as a short cut to the toilet block - fair enough but when people are nearly walking into your open door because they are so close it's a little ignorant. The toilet block had a damp smell to it and wasn't particularly clean considering it was closed for cleaning when we arrived. The floor was wet in places like a bucket of water had been thrown down and smeared around, not really the standard expected at £28 a night. We have not been to this site for at least 5 years and it's fair to say it'll be at least another 5 before we consider it again. The site seemed too small for the amount of people there once it had filled up and felt crowded, especially with units pitched in all ways and places on the pitches.
CAR PARK AT NENE PARK
This site is wonderful clean spacious friendly good walks etc. The only thing is the cars leaving the car park for nene park when they leave it's BANG BANG as they cross the crocodile teeth on the exit road. the C C could possibly ask nene park authority to look at it to see if it's possible to quieten them or put a barrier across the exit operated by a card from the pay machine it's just an idea that might work.

Wonderful stay
We had a great stay at this site. It's in a great location beside Nene Park which is a wonderful park with lots going on. This is an ideal site for dogs as there are lots of walks within the park and areas that the dogs are able to have a swim in on hot summer days. We extended our stay on 3 separate occasions and the park staff were very accommodating. The chips from the chip van are great. A great spacious park that I would highly recommend.

Busy, noisy weekend
Booked in at fairly short notice for a weekend away with the grandchildren (nearly 3 and nearly 8). Not a lot of spaces left at 5pm, so we pitched up by the new adventure playground where we lost the children until 10.30pm of Friday, again on Saturday and on Sunday. As a playpark, it is brilliant, solidly constructed and well laid out. I feel it could do with an indication of suitability for age ranges, and restricted opening times - being woken at 7am by noisy kids is less than ideal. That aside, the children loved it and didn't want to go home on Sunday when Mum and Dad came to fetch them. Monday morning, with the children back at school was oh, so peacful!. The fish and chip van on Friday and Saturday evenings is as popular as ever, food is good and hot and sensibly priced. No doubt it is the same on Wednesday evening but by then we were at home. The site is well managed, marvellous wardens, ever helpful, and they keep the facilities in apple pie order working after lunch to clean the toilet blocks when most people are off site. The surrounding park is also excellent with two cafeterias plus a carvery and a garden centre (with restaurant) all within half a mile. Really enjoyed my weekend away.
First visit
We have had this site recommended by a few different people we have met on other club sites and whilst it is always good to get this kind of help with sites one size does not always fit all.
However having just returned from our first visit to Ferry Meadows I can honestly say it is one of the best allround sites we have stayed at so far.Excellent facilities, well laid out and good sized pitches, we were on the non hardstanding side. The staff always appear to be cheery and helpful and the toilet and shower blocks are imaculate.
Great for families we have two boys, and if you cycle it is safe to ride with the kids. Highly reommended
Lovely site
We have been here twice now and really love it here. We found every thing to be high standard. Staff were very helpful and nothing was to much trouble. We would definately recommend the site.

A lovely site
This is the third time I've stayed on this site and will come again. The wardens are friendly, the showers and toilets lovely and clean. The fish and chip van is good. I always stay on the grass side and enjoy the rabbits. The pitches are nice and level arranged well in separate areas surounded by trees.

Well worth the visit - we will be back.
Having read some of the previous reviews about this site I booked it with some reservations, but have to say I was pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by pleasant and friendly staff who were extremely helpful when we were pitching our oversized unit. The facilities are spotless and well maintained and the location was fantastic for access to the Ferry Meadows park. There is an issue with the noise of the entry barrier to Ferry Meadows and if I had been closer to that side of the site I can imagine it would be extremely disruptive, as it started clanking early morning and went on pretty much all day and well into the evening. Fortunately we were at the far side of that site so whilst we could hear it, it wasn't an issue. Otherwise the site was very quiet. Some of the pitches have a tendancy to water log which is an issue if you have an awning up, but having said that they also drain quite quickly so with just a bit of dry weather the problem rectifies itself. If you had a really wet week it would have been an issue as the puddles got quite deep. Most of the campers with children booked onto the side of the campsite that had the play park (which is fantastic) so as an all adult unit there was very little disruption for us as the two sides are in effect separate camp sites with very little movement between the two. There were some kids on bikes, but nothing too disturbing - having said this we were outside school holiday times - this may not be the case during peak times.
Cycling generally in this area is great, with good access to several bike routes. Can definitely recommend using this form of transport especially given the flat nature of the land which makes for much easier riding. We were there for a fortnight and will happily book again. If you have kids they will be worn out with everything that there is to do in this area - I wanted to borrow someone's children just so we could have a go - they looked to be having that much fun! Lots of good space for dog walking and generally just being outside. Would definitely recommend the site to anyone who wants a relaxing outdoor holiday.
Excellent
First visit and just spent 5 days on this site. Great location for walking and cycling with lots to see and do in the area. We chose the site on the other side of the road to reception as it was less formal and quieter during the week, although this will no doubt be different during school holidays and at weekends with the fabulous new play area. Friendly wardens and very clean facilities.

Lovely Site
Stayed here for 3 nights in June. Beautifully kept site in a stunning location. Plenty of space for everyone to enjoy themselves with lovely walks in the adjacent Country Park. Facilities block very good. Our dog wasn't too impressed with the local inquisitive rabbits but he's only young and will learn, hopefully. Highly recommended and we will almost certainly be back.
