Fabulous site unfortunately experience damped by noise of Jets flying relentlessly overhead

We have been visiting this site for over 20 years. Perfect for families and travelling with dogs. The site was spotless, as always, and the surrounding area beautiful. It was very disappointing to experience the low flying aircraft on some days from 7am to 7pm very 10 -15 minutes - with the power of the jet engines being felt through the caravan floor! We have not experienced this before and would think twice about visiting again.

Great location

Great site great for kids and dogs ,wardens very helpful ,shadey and sunny pitches on hard standing or grass. Did witness a football going out of the playing area and hit a caravan ,either the fencing could be a little higher or a silly pitch to pitch up on. Also we did get a visit from squirrels during the late hours in the awning attacking our rubbishy bin.not really a problem. Magic long weekend.

One of our favourites

We've been to Ferry meadows a few times now and it never disappoints, Its fairly local for us and is ideal for a relaxing weekend. If you like walking or cycling or have dogs to exercise you wont be disappointed, there are miles of pathways around the lakes and beyond. Children are well catered for with the new play area and there's a steam train just up the road with golfing and fishing all on your doorstep. The site is well laid out with a pitch for everyone's taste, the wardens are friendly and helpful, we will return again as its one of our favourites.

Kids playground mecca

A great set up for kids, in the new play area and ball court. Plenty of pitches away from the area as well, if you don't like the noise. With a 2 YO, we parked next to it all and had 2 days of the Bank Holiday weekend, with Abbey and all the other kids, having great fun. Its nice to walk out to the park and around the river as well. Great set of wardens, working hard always.

site tidyness April 20th 2017

This is normally a very well kept site but this visit was disappointing. We understand that there was a shortage of wardens and the four there during our visit had only just been called in.The grass had not been cut and there was lots of tree debris on some of the pitches. The wardens were doing their best to rectify the situation but they had an uphill job to get back to normal standards. It really looked like previous wardens had let things go.This is a large site and i would question if 4 people could cope.

Our first visit of the season

This was our first visit of the season to one of our favourite sites and was slightly disappointed. I appreciate that the site was busy due to the motorhome show. There seemed to be a lack of direction from wardens, there were holdups waiting for staff to open barriers, Although the white peg policy is explained we saw many examples of the policy not being followed and wardens were not correcting errant units. In fact this was the first visit where we had not had interaction with wardens who are normally friendly and helpful. The shower block on the east side, the shower panels had sustained water damage to the joints so they had been repaired with blue resin and looked a mess. Expect better from our next visit.

Even better than expected

We arrived here not sure what this location would be like. We knew that everything would be at the excellent standard of the club and it was. We were located on the east side and had plenty of pitches to chose from. Even with the greenery there were sunny bright spots all around this side. It was especially quiet at nighttime. The location of the site surrounded by Nene Park meant that we were able to walk off site in varying directions and enjoy the surroundings. We were thoroughly impressed with this site and would recommend it to others.

Excellent Site

We visited in order to visit the Motor-home Show; easy access from the site to the showground (about 7 minutes by car) The site is split into East and West, East has the children's play area and has mainly grass pitches whilst the West side has predominantly hard standings. There are toilet blocks in each section. We were on the West section so most of my comments relate to that area. The layout is good with several small sections holding a few pitches each. The camp was busy but still remained quiet and peaceful, toilets were good quality and well maintained and clean. Reception was open throughout the day and had a well stocked shop. Wardens were friendly, helpful and efficient. The public park next door has lots of space for both human and canine exercise and although it is often very busy with organised races etc it has ample parking so does not intrude on the site. Access to the site by motor home or towing is easy.

Motorhome Service Point Needs Improvement

We stayed the weekend after Easter to attend the National Motorhome show and the Tornado steam special on the Nene Valley Railway. We stayed on the West site, and our pitch backed on to the footpath and railway line through the trees so I could hear the trains running past which I enjoyed. The site staff were helpful and friendly. The main issue that detracted from a perfect score is the motorhome service point. The grey water point was inaccessible on our UK built 'van if we followed the one-way arrows, and therefore had to go the wrong way along the road to the point. This needs to be upgraded to a grid that runs the width of the road in order to enable both UK and continental 'vans to be serviced.

Recent Stay

Just spent 6 nights over the Easter period on this great site with the grand children they loved the new play area. We where pleasantly surprised where we had pitched our van the noise from the play area was quite and soon as it was dusk the children had gone back to there respective caravans. Facilities where spotless and its wasn't a rush in the mornings for the shower block as it didn't close until 14.00 to 15.00 for males 15.00 to 16.00 for the ladies. Fish and Chip van calls 3 times a week but unfortunately we are not a lover of them, Plenty todo in Nene Park for the children plenty of bike rides local train into Peterborough.
