A stay at Fairlight Wood Club Campsite is almost like taking a soothing break in a large and lovely garden. This is a small and intimate campsite set in flower rich woodland and with many quaint footpaths to wander along. The area is rich in historic value - the nearby seaside town of Hastings was William the Conqueror's base camp in 1066 and it was here he chose to build his famous castle following the historic victory at Battle.
Fairlight Wood Club Campsite offers a perfect retreat for nature lovers - its surrounding woodlands are listed as a Biodiversity area so are ideal for spotting wildlife. It's also in an ideal location for dog walking. The nearby Old Hastings is well worth the visit for its quiet charm - here you can watch the fisherman bringing home their daily catch, eat some of the freshest fish and chips you've ever tasted and then walk the meal off with a leisurely stroll along streets that still hold the atmosphere of days gone by. Choosing a holiday in East Sussex also puts you within a short distance from the scenic East Cliffs, and for walkers who enjoy a bit of a challenge, it connects with a lovely 5 mile Country Park walk which will lead you through a wealth of natural treats such as wooded valleys and secluded beaches. Look out for The Big White House in nearby Pett Level which was featured in the Channel Four series, Grand Designs.

This is only a small site, just what we like it. It's very quite and at night you can hear the owls from the surrounding woodland. You can walk dogs from either end of the site where there are nice woodland walks, the one at the rear of the site... Show more

Fantastic, helpful friendly wardens on a lovely quiet site. Some great walks to nearby puds, coffee shop and beach with easy to follow direction in the information room and from personal advice from wardens. All the facilities are very well and lovingly looked after. As far as 'suitable for families'... Show more

Lovely and quiet and shower temperature and pressure best ever! Staff were very welcoming, accommodating and helpful. It’s a little remote and down a single track so beware of oncoming caravans as passing places were used for parking at the weekend we stayed. The nearest village has a good pub... Show more

A short drive quiet down a narrow lane leads to the campsite set in woodland. Be aware that the approach into Watermill Lane can easily be missed (the C&MH sign is quite small). Usual friendly, smiley welcome and being able to select our pitch is always a good start to... Show more

A typical club site with all you expect: great and informative reception, pick your own pitch, clean and well maintained facilities. The site is in a wood so most pitches are under trees (great on a hot sunny day). I prefer not to be under trees and managed to find... Show more
