A week away with a duckling!

We spent the last week in September in Dulverton.  This was our third trip to the site, although we had not been back for five years.  The site was beautifully clean and maintained, especially the shower blocks.  It was so good to get out of the shower into a warm space. Wifi access was available at a nominal cost but the instructions for use were not clear.  It is imperative to logout after every session using the logout.com.  We only found this out having talked to a fellow camper. For us the vehicle and the awning on opposite sides of the caravan, as requested by the Warden, made life difficult.  We have two elderly dogs who use our vehicle as an outside kennel and are used to being able to access the awning from the side of the vehicle.  Since the weather was not that warm both dogs ended up cold as they constantly tried to get near us and this was not possible with the van on the opposite side.  Perhaps some flexibility could be given here - we have not had this problem at other sites. We had to bring our 5 week old duckling with us and this caused great interest and amusement,  We can safely say that she thoroughly enjoyed her stay at Exmoor House as so did we. Dulverton itself is really dog friendly and has interesting independent shops.  The Heritage Centre is well worth a long visit.  We partook in a guided walk along the disused railway at Brushford with three of the staff and it was really interesting.  We got to see places no ordinary visitor would see.  If there is a trip going do avail yourselves of it as the staff are so knowledgable and friendly. We will be back of that there is no doubt.
