Dogs, dogs and more dogs

The site is in an excellent position, with facilities kept clean and tidy by friendly and efficient site staff. One problem - dogs. I'm sure that most of the considerate owners feel let down by the few owners who allow their animals to whine, yelp, bark, defacate and urinate seemingly at will. I finished up asking a neighbour whose dog barks at any close movement to keep the animal quiet. I was told that the animal was not barking even when it was as I was being given that information. I was then told to go to sites where dogs are not allowed. I suggested that it would be better if he controlled his two dogs which didn't seem to register. This problem has progressively worsened in the recent past on just about every site we have visited, to the point that we are now actively contemplating giving up on caravaning.

That’s rather OTT to contemplate giving up, NG.surprised

We’re asked to tell the warden on site at the time any such nuisance occurs and then report it to Head Office if we feel it necessary. Did you do that and what was the outcome?

Not a problem that I come across often. There was a young dog yapping for about 10 mins on site after it's lady owner went to shower block. Not common however.

cry We understand the comments NG makes. This year we have yet to stay on a CMH site for this very reason, having previously taken all our breaks with them. We have found private sites more accommodating, particularly adult only, and actually the standards far superior to those of this club. Until the management take a serious look and listen to the complaints made about members with unruly and noisy dogs on site nothing will change.

I can understand you complaining about dogs barking and pooing as any responsible dog owner should stop them barking and pick their mess up but as for urinating that is their way of leaving their scent so they don't get lost and for the life of me I cant think of a way of picking their urine up
